We're celebrating and we'd love for you to be part of it!

Treehouse Tutoring is officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we're celebrating with an Open House on Saturday, October 17 at 1 PM.

Over the last three years, this community has helped us grow from a small idea focused on individualized learning, into a place where students and families come to learn, read, and feel supported. This is our chance to say thank you and share what's next.

Here's what's planned:

-A ribbon cutting to mark our new chapter as a nonprofit
-A tour of the Treehouse Center
-Free activities for kids
-A look at some of our new initiatives

FREE Tutoring is here for the 2025–26 School Year!

Treehouse Tutoring is proud to partner with Merced City School District to help students thrive. Whether your child needs after-school support or personalized one-on-one help, we've got a spot for them, at no cost to your family.

We have afterschool programs at Sheehy and Reyes for students in 2nd to 5th grade to get homework help, and enjoy STEAM activities to make learning more hands on.

We are also now offering 1-on-1 Tutoring at our center for all MCSD students, with limited spots available.

Our programs run August 31st – May 28th.

Every program is completely FREE but spots are limited.

Here’s a few of our favorite moments from the night of the performance. ✨🎭

It’s hard to put into words how much work, care, and dedication went into bringing this project to life.

From building sets, rehearsing songs, writing, organizing, creating, and taking a leap on something entirely new, seeing it all finally happen felt like a huge milestone for Treehouse.

One of the most moving parts of the night was getting to see our tutors, team members, and owners step onto the stage themselves. So often we see the work that happens behind the scenes. The planning, late nights, and care they pour into students and community, and this felt like such a special reminder of how much talent and heart exists within this team.

To everyone who performed, volunteered, donated, sponsored, attended, bid in the silent auction, bought raffle tickets, and supported this event in any way: Thank You.

This night felt like a celebration of creativity, community, and what can happen when people build something together.

A small glimpse into tonight’s Treehouse Tutoring Cabaret: When I Grow Up…✨🎭

The amount of talent, heart, and work poured into this show has been incredible to witness. From live performances and music to storytelling, set design, and community collaboration, tonight is truly something special.

We didn’t want to reveal too much before the curtain rises… but here’s a little preview before the audience gets to experience it live.

Right about now, the lights are dimming, the cast is getting ready backstage, and this entire world everyone built together is about to come to life. 💛

A little behind the scenes before tonight’s cabaret. 🎭✨

Over the last few days, so many people came together to help build the world of When I Grow Up… Painting sets, moving walls, building trees by hand, and transforming the space piece by piece into tonight’s performance.

What makes this show so special is how deeply community-built it truly is. Every detail has been created with care by people who believe in arts education, creativity, and giving young people a space to dream bigger.

Tonight is the night.

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

For Mike Harris, the answer has changed many times throughout his life.

Through different careers, experiences, and paths, he’s continued to grow into new versions of himself, reminding us that we are never truly done becoming who we want to be.

That idea sits at the heart of this year’s Treehouse Cabaret: “When I Grow Up…” because no matter our age, we never stop asking ourselves who or what we want to become next.

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

For Alissa Haynes, the goal was always independence, building a life that felt true to herself while contributing to the community around her.

Through her work at Second Time Around Bookstore, she helps preserve one of the community’s local literature spaces: a place filled with stories, connection, and curiosity.

Today, Alissa says she’s living the life she once hoped for, a reminder that success can look different for everyone.
