Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, career and alternative education, business services, early child care and education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. Tietjen, and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to fa

cilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates the outdoor school Camp Green Meadows. The 2026 Merced County Art Contest is open to high school students in grades 9–12 who live in Merced County! Showcase your creativity with an original artwork inspired by Agriculture, Water, Nature, or Cityscape.

Five winners—one from each Supervisorial District—will have their artwork displayed at the Merced County Administration Building and be recognized by the Board of Supervisors.

Contest opens: September 8, 2026
Deadline: October 9, 2026 at 5 p.m.
