Title: What Triggers Are And Why You Need to Understand Them
Date: Friday, April 24, 2020
Someone makes a joke, a snide comment, thinking ‘no big deal,’ but all you can think about for the rest of the day are those words, over and over again. You find yourself feeling off-center, anxious, guilty, angry, or even in shame.
Does this sound familiar?
We all have emotional triggers. It can be challenging to identify exactly what those triggers are, but the process of getting to know and understand them can help us heal and learn how to cope better in response. Please join us, as we explore the power of triggers and discuss why it is so important for us to understand them.

We hope you will join us for these exciting opportunities to learn and engage with one another.

About the event:
This presentation is a cartography of queer and trans Latinx love in Los Angeles. Working with an archive of oral histories, cultural production, and urban geographies of love, pleasure, and loss, Eddy Francisco Alvarez Jr. charts the affective, physical, and imagined spaces of queer brown LA. Informed by sequined dresses and dancefloors, immigrant rights marches and hospital rooms, this project weaves together multiple sites and memories that show how jotería find sequins in the rubble of erasure, displacement and silence.
