Congratulations to Professor of Agriculture Education, Celia Casso, who was recognized yesterday with the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association (CATA) Teacher of Excellence Award at the organization’s annual banquet.
The CATA Teacher of Excellence Award recognizes agricultural educators who demonstrate outstanding commitment to agricultural education through exceptional teaching, student mentorship, leadership, innovation, and service to the profession. It is one of the association’s highest honors, celebrating educators who make a lasting impact on their students, schools, and communities.
Since joining Merced College last August, Celia has been a passionate advocate for student success, preparing the next generation of agricultural professionals through hands-on learning, meaningful industry connections, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Her dedication extends far beyond the classroom, as she continually inspires students to pursue careers in agriculture while strengthening the future of California’s agricultural workforce.
