From Federico:
“Alternatively credited as "Zamba de Balderrama", this song is one of my favorites in the argentine folklore tradition and was composed by composer Cuchi Leguizamon. Very different from its homophone Samba (an energetic brazilian rhythm), Zamba is a dance and song form, majestic in its approach to body movement yet slow. The rhythmic pattern is marked by the bombo legüero, a low drum very characteristic of argentine folklore, which yields both low sounds, when played ordinarily, as well as high sound produced with rim shots. Balderrama's lyrics depict a music venue of the same name located in Salta, the city where Leguizamon grew up, marked by music performances and gathering would extend late into the night.”
