We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our students and staff throughout the Bright Minds Summer Academy!

To celebrate, our students, staff, and administrators enjoyed popsicles, games, and a fun administrator race. A special shout-out to Ms. Lourenco for taking home the win!

Hello Mustang Community,

We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer break! While our students and staff are enjoying some well deserved time off, there has been a great deal of work taking place across the McSwain campus. We wanted to take a moment to share some of the exciting improvements that are underway.

Over the past year, our Board of Trustees has made updating and modernizing our facilities a top priority. This work began last summer with the resurfacing of our parking lots, roofing improvements, and other deferred maintenance projects across the district. These investments are part of a long-term commitment to maintaining safe, modern, and welcoming schools for our students, staff, and community.

This summer, we are continuing that work by replacing aging HVAC units that have reached the end of their service life. These new systems will provide more reliable heating and air conditioning, creating a more comfortable learning environment for our students and staff for years to come.

In addition, roofing improvements are continuing in preparation for the installation of our new solar energy system. Construction on the solar project will begin in the near future and represents a significant investment in the future of our district. Not only will it modernize our facilities, but it will also reduce energy costs, allowing us to redirect more resources toward student learning and classroom programs.

We are also beginning renovations to several student restrooms as part of our continued commitment to improving our campus. These upgrades will provide students with modern, accessible, and well-maintained facilities that reflect the pride we have in our schools.

McSwain is a special place, and we are committed to ensuring that our facilities reflect the excellence of our students, staff, and community. Every improvement we make is an investment in the future of our district and helps create learning environments where students can thrive.

Dear McSwain Families and Community,

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. For those students I had the opportunity to see at the Merced County Fair this morning, it was wonderful to witness the pride, responsibility, dedication, and hard work they demonstrated while showing their animals. Moments like these are a great reminder of what makes the McSwain community so special.

I am excited to share some important news regarding leadership at McSwain Union Elementary School District.

After a thorough selection process, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Solis has been selected as the next Principal of McSwain School.

Mr. Solis joins us with a strong commitment to supporting student success. Throughout the interview process, he demonstrated a passion for building positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community. His student centered approach, collaborative leadership style, and dedication to academic excellence make him an excellent fit for the McSwain community.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, Mr. Solis is eager to begin meeting our students, families, and staff. He looks forward to continuing the strong traditions of excellence at McSwain while working alongside our community to support every student's growth and success.

I would also like to extend sincere gratitude to Mrs.Sanders for her years of dedicated service to McSwain School. We are thankful for her leadership, commitment to our students, staff, and families, and the positive impact she has had on our school community. We wish her nothing but success and happiness in her future endeavors and thank her for the many contributions she has made during her time at McSwain.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Solis to the McSwain family. Additional opportunities to meet and connect with him will be shared as we get closer to the start of the school year.

The final episode of Mr. Lance Talks is officially here! Join Mr. Lance as we wrap up an incredible 2025–2026 school year by celebrating the memories, achievements, and special moments that made this year unforgettable at McSwain.

This final episode also includes something extra special, a featured segment with one of our youngest McSwain students, reminding us that every Mustang voice matters and highlighting the joy, excitement, and heart that make our school community so unique.

Thank you to all of our students, staff, families, and listeners for supporting Mr. Lance Talks throughout the year. We are proud of the stories shared, the laughter created, and the memories made along the way.

In this episode, Mr. Lance meets with three student representatives who are part of the McSwain CEI Initiative. The focus of the initiative is bringing together staff, students, parents, community members, and administrators to create an action plan focused on making McSwain the best school possible. This committee began at the start of the school year and has just completed its planning for next year!
