Who said learning Jiu-Jitsu can’t be fun?

This is our "bull fighter pass" drill, a fun movement game that helps kids develop real Jiu-Jitsu skills while they’re having a blast.

They’re working on:

🥋 Toreando passing movement
⚡ Speed & reaction
🧠 Timing & coordination
⏰️ Time management drilling

●Top player: start with pant grips and keeps out horns whipping legs side to side walking towards the head
●bottom player: Making hooks (horns) behind their partners knees for 5 seconds to win the round

The best part?

They’re learning Jiu-Jitsu without it feeling like work.

At Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu Merced, we use drills, games, positional training, and live movement to help kids build real Jiu-Jitsu skills while developing confidence, discipline, and resilience.

Because when kids love coming to class, they’re excited to keep learning.

Jiu-Jitsu doesn’t always look like what you think it does. 🥋

Sometimes it looks like kids chasing each other around the mat, laughing, scrambling, and trying to tag their training partner.

This is "Catch me if you can" a fun and simple game that gets our kids moving while teaching them skills they’ll use in Jiu-Jitsu:

●Rock paper scissors. ➡️Winner is "it"
●10 seconds to tag the other player
●winner stays in or we choose another group

🥋 Closing distance
⚡Quick direction change
💪 Controlling movement
🎯 Staying on your toes
🔥 Learning how to compete while having fun

Because kids learn best when they’re having fun and don’t even realize how much they’re learning.

That’s what we love about Jiu-Jitsu.

It’s about helping them become confident, capable, resilient kids while giving them a place to have fun and make friends.
