UC MERCED SOCIOLOGY CLUB: 1ST GENERAL BOARD MEETING

We had an awesome time meeting our brand new members as well as fostering an environment for our returning members to mingle once again! We learned about our new eboard team, as well as played a few games that had everyone feeling a little bit closer than before. We hope to see you all at our next general board meeting!

BIG NEWS!

We are extremely excited to share with you guys that the Sociology Club won Registered Club of the Year, last semester!🎊💚

This is a big accomplishment for the Sociology Club! Especially with a whole new E-board this is the first time the Sociology Club has won this award since its been started in 2009! Our hard work and dedication paid off we were able to accomplish one of our biggest goals !

We would love to thank all of our club members who supported us through it all , from attending all our meetings to helping us promote the club ! We would not be able to do it without any of our soc goats! A big shout out to our advisor as well who made many of our events happen as well !

We are so proud and grateful for this Club and Incredible accomplishment! We can’t wait for what’s in store for us this semester and we hope to continue growing with all our continuing members and new members! Can’t wait to see what this year holds for us ! Once again thank you to everyone who voted for us and really believed we deserved this award 💚🐐! -

HELLO SOC GOATS! We just wanted to give you guys a quick recap of last years events we hosted and also congratulate our graduates 💚! Last year as a club we were able to accomplish so much from being a whole new e-board and adjusting to working together to achieving one of our major goals ! We would not be able to do everything we accomplished without your guys support and encouragement so thank you! We hope you guys enjoy these photo recaps and we can’t wait to show you guys what we have in store for this year, we hope to, expand, share and educate many more students this semester in the importance of sociology in our daily lives ! We hope to see you all at our meetings this year 🐐💚!





A recap on our painting events! Last year during Fall semester we hosted a pumpkin painting event for the month of October 🎃! During last semester for February❤️ we hosted a tote bag painting event where we had our members paint something of their choice on a tote bag and then we had a mini competition. Our soc goats are very talented artist as you can see! 🎨

The Sociolgy Club attended the Annual Sociolgy Conference that took place in Berkeley ! Luckily some of our members were able to attend ! We all got to network with different schools, but also learn about the research different professors and students did ! Definitely a great and educational opportunity 📚💚!

Last semester we brought in some Graduate students that are part of the sociology department to speak about their experiences in sociology and also UC Merced! The Graduate students were able to educate many of our students on their own path when it came to their sociological education! They answered questions, gave advice, and provided a safe space for our club members to discuss and share their thoughts and opinions! 💚🐐

As a completely new e-board we had to adjust and learn to work together! We had a few E-board bonding outings where all of our E-board came together to spend time and also understand who we all really are! Our E-board bonded very well and worked so hard to provide a great year for our Sociolgy Members and the Community around us 😁💚!
