Providers, let's not forget that every mandated report made and found to be false can be fined or sentenced to jail time.

I am reminding us to have our LPA hold people who file false reports accountable, as they do us, when they find any finding to be halfway true.

We have power in numbers. We have a voice every one else uses for their own benefits.

If we want change, we have to be who we thought our union was going to be for us.

We are the Union.

I have been very vocal about the lack of Spanish-to-English translation in many of the rooms and meetings I attend.
Recently, another provider from a different city reached out to me because a friend told her about a meeting I attended where I spoke on the lack of consideration, organization, and respect shown toward English-speaking members.
When translation is not provided, it limits our access to important information and reduces our ability to fully engage in events, discussions, and opportunities that are meant to benefit all of us.
What frustrates me the most is how some Spanish-speaking members immediately gang up on anyone who brings this issue up. The irony is that many of us previously advocated for accommodations and inclusion when the roles were reversed. We understood the importance of making sure everyone could participate and feel informed.
Now, instead of acknowledging the concern, some people act dismissively or even defensively, as if asking for equal access is somehow offensive. Wanting translation and inclusion for English-speaking members is not disrespectful — it’s asking for the same consideration that was once requested for others.
