Merced High School’s FFA program has recently been recognized as a nationally ranked Three-Star FFA Chapter, an outstanding achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of its students and advisors. The chapter will be formally recognized at the National FFA Convention in October, where top FFA chapters from across the country will be honored for their accomplishments.
The process began in early 2026, when Merced High School’s FFA chapter submitted an application for the California State Competition. To advance to the national level, chapters must demonstrate excellence in areas such as leadership, student involvement, community service, agricultural education, and overall chapter development. Merced High School’s FFA chapter had to place within the top 10 percent of FFA chapters in California in order to qualify for national recognition.
After successfully meeting the state-level requirements, the chapter advanced to the national evaluation process. At the national level, FFA chapters are awarded a rating of One, Two, or Three Stars, with Three Stars representing the highest level of recognition. Earning a Three-Star rating is a significant accomplishment and demonstrates that Merced High School’s FFA chapter has established itself as one of the strongest and most successful programs in the nation.
This recognition is a tremendous honor for Merced High School and the entire FFA community. It highlights the dedication of the students who participate in FFA, the support of their advisors, families, school, and community, and the program’s commitment to developing future leaders through agricultural education and hands-on experiences.
