What a week of teaching! I graduated from Podiatry residency few year ago. This week I was invited back to give a lecture on surgical management of , was able to host a saw bone ex fix lab and cadaver muscle flap lab for current TMC residents. Feels good to connect with my old attendings and give back.

Limb salvage case in an infected ankle charcot with infected failed hardware and a non union.

Complete removal of hardware with culture/pathology was performed. Tendo-Achilles lengthening and revision of ankle and subtalar joint fusion was performed with static external fixator. Antibiotic IM "nail" was made from cement and tobramycin mixture and inserted across subtalar and ankle joint. Learn more at footandanklecases.com

Severe ankle fracture dislocation that required open reduction and internal fixation. After three years patient developed sever dengenerative joint disease seen on CT with large cyst formation in talus and distal tibia Patient required ankle fusion with internal hardware from anterior approach for complete pain relief. Due to osteopenia on DEXA scan and large cysts total ankle replacement was not considered.

Great neglected ankle fracture case from footandanklefellowship page.

4 week old tib-fib fx that was treated as 'gout' with oral steroids. When deformity began, he sought another opinion. Obese, active patient, fit bit showed he walked 54 miles on these fractures. Options?
