Sunshine Learning Center

Today is bittersweet. It's my last day as owner of Sunshine Learning Center. I've decided it's time to retire. I don't know what this next chapter will bring but I've loved the last 21 1/2 years with all of my heart. I knew from first grade that I wanted to be a teacher, but to become a business owner was a very scary decision. I was supported at every crossroads by Kevin and things just kept growing. It has been a blessing to be a part of the lives of so many families. I have been invited to countless birthday parties and high school graduations and I've relished those connections. I know they will continue just in a different form. In the last year, I've had 2 Sunshine alumni join the amazing staff that has supported me at every turn and are one of the biggest reasons my center has thrived. My heart is full and I thank all of you for that!

We are having a great week celebrating Dr. Seuss ~ Stories with the Cat in the Hat, Eating Green Eggs and Ham for lunch, Crazy Socks, Hat Day, Pajama Day - so much fun!

Today Mr. Simmerman and his amazing choir from Boyceville High School came to Sunshine and shared a set of Christmas songs with us to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Thank you Ben, for always including us in your day of making spirits bright!

Thank you Anderson Racing and Mullet Boy - Emmitt Bailey for sharing your race cars with us! A big Thank You to Red Cedar Speedway for the goodie bag! We loved exploring each car!

Tired of snow? Slime is the way to go!!! Today the Yellow room worked together to make slime. They then got to experience what it means to be in a sticky situation. They then shared the slime with the Orange room to explore as well. It’s was definitely a slime-fest day!!!

Today the Orange Room friends took advantage of the fresh snow and painted our playground extra beautiful.

We had a wonderful performance by the Boyceville High School Choir for all of our children earlier this week. Thank you Ben Simmerman for bringing your talented students to us again this year!

The Sunshine staff had a wonderful holiday party watching Footloose at Chanhassen Dinner Theater. It was fun to enjoy some down-time together.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Today the Orange Room and Yellow Room had a collaborative project. They used their math, science, and creative skills to socially cook/build turkey cookies.

Happy Halloween!!! Today we got to celebrate Halloween by having a costume parade at Comforts of Homes and American Lutheran Home. Then at Sunshine we had a Halloween party with lots of spectacular activities.

It’s Apple Season at Sunshine!!! Today the Orange and Yellow Room made applesauce with the apples from our apple tree.

Today we celebrated our 19th Birthday!!! We had a monster of a good time!!!
