A bittersweet moment wrapping this portion of the project up. This may be my last opportunity to finish white ash. White ash in our area is being decimated by the Emerald Ash Borer and the wood is basically becoming extinct around here. Most definitely disappointing but glad I had the opportunity to give these pieces the love they deserved.

Shellac is my favorite product to seal raw wood. By far. The way it reflects light off of parallel fibrous pieces us unmatched.

The terrain isnt the only thing that is flat around here.

Biggest vent hood this side of Amarillo, I reckon. Tip of the hat to Chase Casados. These white oak cabinets are top show and this hood will be a show piece in this kitchen when it is all finished. MUCH more to come on this build and finishing project.
