Violence Prevention Belongs in Every Classroom

Teachers do far more than educate, they guide, protect, and often stand on the front lines of student safety every single day. But who prepares them for the moments that aren’t in the lesson plan?

Violence prevention education isn’t just about learning to defend, it’s about learning to de-escalate, recognize, and respond before harm occurs. When teachers and students understand early warning signs, social cues, and human behavior, they create safer learning environments for everyone.

I was working with a mom today, holding pads for her while she kicked and punched for a solid half hour. She was hyper-focused, powerful, and completely in the moment.

I asked her, “Do your girls see all this strength in you?”

She looked at me and said, “I’m doing this so I can protect them.”

💥 That’s what self-defense is really about — mindset.
Not fear. Not aggression. But purpose. Protecting what matters most.

Dont raise your chirldren to be victims. Don't tell them to "NOT USE" every available option open to them when they are forced to defend themselves. Don't tell your chirldren to "Don't Hit First, but Make Sure You Finish It"! They must be able to defend themselves from Bullies, both from an educated understanding of Bullying and the motivation behind it, how to attempt to manage it, and if you must use physical force to stop any physical conflict.
Teaching them anything else, just reduces their self worth, and self value. Don't make them victims.
