Hello Cho’s family,

This past Friday, life reminded me that challenges can come when we least expect them.

I, Sir John, suffered a partial Achilles tendon rupture—my second Achilles injury since my first one in 2019. While it will set me back for the next few months, I know this is another challenge I must face.

Grandmaster Cho has always taught us that the challenges we face in life are opportunities to build our character, strengthen our spirit, and develop resilience. Martial arts teaches us that we may not always be able to control what happens to us, but we can always control how we respond to them.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped me when the injury happened and everyone who has reached out since. Your support, concern, and kind words have meant more to me than I can express. I’m truly grateful.

To my students: please continue to come to class, continue to train, and continue to work toward your goals. Even while I recover, your journey does not stop. The lessons you learn, the discipline you build, and the challenges you overcome in class will stay with you far beyond the martial arts school.

I may not be able to train the way I normally do for a while, but I’ll still be here—learning, teaching, and supporting you every step of the way.

This is only another chapter in the journey. I’ll face this challenge with patience, discipline, and resilience, and I hope my recovery reminds you to do the same whenever life places an obstacle in your path.

Keep showing up. Keep training. Keep growing. The journey continues. 💪🥋

At Cho’s Martial Arts, we’re more than a school—we’re a community built on Honor, Excellence, and Leadership. Every time we step on the mat, we’re not just improving our skills, we’re lifting each other up, encouraging one another, and growing stronger together. 💪

As we head into a new week, we’d love to see everyone in class, giving their best and supporting their teammates. Testing on July 25th is right around the corner, and each class is a chance to build confidence and be ready. 🥋 Let’s show up, work hard, and finish this testing period strong—together. 💙
