Hello Families!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our school was chosen as an official site for a Dog Man Little Free Library! In partnership with Scholastic and the Little Free Library nonprofit, our school was selected as one of only 100 sites across the entire country to receive one of these special book-sharing boxes.
Even better, our very first set of inventory was generously provided by the author himself, Dav Pilkey! The library is currently stocked with a wide variety of his books, with amazing stories for many different reading levels, ages, and interests.
If you look closely, you will even find his brand-new release from this April, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Manga! This is an official manga adaptation of the original chapter book, written and adapted by Dav Pilkey, featuring all-new artwork by Japanese manga artist Motojiro.
📖 How Does a Little Free Library Work?
The Little Free Library is a fun, year-round community book exchange. The premise is very simple: Take a book, and then either bring it back when you are done, or leave a different book in its place! Right now, our new library is bursting with Dav Pilkey favorites, but as our school community starts using it, you’ll notice all sorts of different books, subjects, and authors when you stop by.
Here's what author Dav Pilkey (who funded the libraries) says: “Every child deserves access to books. With this initiative, we hope to spark curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading." ♥️
We can't wait for our students to start exploring and sharing their favorite stories. Keep an eye out for the striking, custom-illustrated box on campus, and be sure to check it out!

The LFL was registered for English and Spanish readers, so be careful that you check the books. The Dog Man original is a Spanish title in our box!
