We were honored to welcome our State Superintendent Levi Bachmeier to our rural school this week! It was a great chance to share the amazing work of our students and staff. We’re proud of our small but mighty school and grateful for the support of rural education!

Open Enrollment Announcement – K–1 Classroom

Menoken School is excited to announce that open enrollment for our K–1 classroom for the 2026–2027 school year will be open from February 1st through March 1st.

Please note that there is a cap on the number of students allowed in the classroom, and enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Families interested in enrolling their child for the upcoming school year are encouraged to submit their open enrollment application as early as possible during the enrollment window. Spaces are limited.

I am excited to share some wonderful news about our school community. The National Rural School Collaborative recently published an article highlighting the innovative work happening here at our amazing rural school. This feature shines a spotlight on the dedication of our staff, the creativity of our students, and the strong partnerships that make our learning environment so special.

In addition to showcasing our programs and initiatives, the article also features several of our students, who were interviewed and given the opportunity to share their experiences firsthand. Their voices, insights, and enthusiasm truly brought our school’s story to life, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented our community.

The article captures what we already know to be true: our school is a place where students are supported, challenged, and encouraged to thrive. From hands-on learning experiences to community-driven projects, the Rural School Collaborative recognized the meaningful opportunities we provide and the values that make our school unique.

We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for earning this recognition. I invite you to read and celebrate this accomplishment with us. It’s a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve together as a rural community.

A HUGE Thank you to Dakota Community Bank for the awesome food and Strom Sanitation and Amvets Post 20 for the inflatables !! Menoken students and families had a blast, even in the heat 🙂
