September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and this one means a lot to us at BFT Menlo Park. π©΅
All month long, we're raising awareness in the studio, donating to The Teal Foundation in Campbell, an organization dedicated to funding groundbreaking research for the treatment of ovarian cancer, with a special focus on developing a reliable diagnostic test for early detection. Stop by the front desk for a teal bracelet to wear in support.
And on Sunday, September 27th, 9-10 AM at Nealon Park, join us for a special outdoor workout & donate. It's free and open to the entire community, in honor of everyone affected by ovarian cancer.

This one is personal for our Head Coach, Kelly Scott | Fitness Coach. In her words:
"May 26th, 2026, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was the hardest day of my life.
Over 10 years ago I tested positive for the BRCA1 gene. My mom had breast cancer twice, I've been doing high-risk screening, and I always feared that I would be a statistic... and unfortunately, I was.
I can't go back and change the past wishing I would have done preventative surgery sooner. I have to look forward and heal my body in every way possible.
Ladies, please don't ignore any gynecological symptoms. A lot of times we dismiss it as menstrual cramps, ovulation, or one of the many things that go on down there. But don't. Thank goodness I was checked out within a week of feeling light pressure, nothing super painful, just different.
I know life is busy, it's hard to slow down and really tune in to what your body is telling you, but I'm sharing this with you now so you can be prepared, just in case. Early detection is so important, and I know it's scary, but it could save your life.
I just found out that Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month is September, and I feel obligated to share my story and spread the word to as many people as I can. I'm honored that BFT is partnering with me to help raise money for a local nonprofit and raise awareness."
