🔬 Our 2nd Annual Science Extravaganza!
Students, faculty, staff, and families spent the day exploring, questioning, and discovering through hands-on experiments, interactive presentations, and science in action across campus.
Fourth graders shared their “Parks in Peril” research on National Parks through brochures, posters, models, and even podcasts—highlighting both the beauty of these spaces and the importance of protecting them. Fifth graders presented findings from their independent science research projects in a scientific conference-style experience where families and fellow students could explore, interact with, and learn from their work.
From hands-on experiments to thoughtful conversations about science and the environment, the day showcased critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.
⏩ Swipe to see science in action—from motion experiments and magnetic discoveries to suspension bridges, crystallization, and more!

What do a slip n’ slide, a campus debate, and a very special (and furry) guest have in common? Student voice.
Throughout the year, students have developed a strong understanding of writing as a process—drafting, discussing, refining, and sharing ideas with an audience.
Kindergarteners put persuasive writing into action this past week. Their letters asking for a waterslide led to a slip n’ slide afternoon 💦—their excitement says it all.
Second graders spent weeks reading, debating, and writing their way through a Tournament of Books—sharing opinions, supporting their thinking with evidence, and engaging in close votes (some decided by just one!). That same persuasive writing even led to a special classroom visit from an adorable visitor (👀 see if you can spot the disguise).
And for Earth Day, K-5 students extended their voices beyond campus by writing postcards to local leaders and creating “Save the Planet” posters.
Across it all, students have come to understand that their ideas matter—and that their voices can have an impact.

Head of School for the Day (x2!)
Before break, we handed over the reins… and this time, we had not one, but TWO Heads of School for the Day—a dynamic sibling duo who took their roles very seriously.
From welcoming students in the morning and leading GATHER to helping in classrooms, delivering mail, completing a scavenger hunt and hosting a surprise lunch guest (👀 see if you recognize them), it was an action-packed day.
In the end? They decided being Head of School is a lot of work and were very happy to go back to being “normal students” again. The selfie says it all! 😃

A Week of Design in 3rd Grade 🎲👕
History met the runway as students debuted their Civil Rights Fashion Show. Each piece reflected a message, a voice, and a point of view, showing how fashion can tell a story and stand for something bigger.
The week wrapped up with a Game Jam, where students worked in teams to create original games that applied their strong foundation in multiplication and division. After brainstorming, prototyping, testing, and gathering feedback, students shared their games with families during an energetic showcase filled with a little friendly competition and a whole lot of creativity.

📐 Math Mornings ➕ PBS = a whole lot of problem-solving fun!
This week, families joined us on campus for Math Mornings—an opportunity to step into the classroom and experience our inquiry-based approach to math.
Students, parents, and guardians worked side by side on problem-solving tasks designed to spark creative thinking and build confidence. There was no rush to the “right” answer, just space to explore, collaborate, and stay with a challenge. As our Math Specialist shared, these experiences give adults permission to step back and let students take the lead—reminding us that learning is a process for all of us.
We loved welcoming families into the learning alongside their children and look forward to the next morning of problem-solving together.
