Hi all! Our trees from Neighborhood Forest have arrived! 🌳. Unfortunately my son and I (mostly me) have been sick these last few weeks and our Earth Day shenanigans have had to take a back seat. You are welcome to pick up any day between 10:30 am and 6:00 pm in Canyon Lake. I will also be in Temecula between 11:30 -2:30 Wednesday for those who would like to pick up there. Please email me at [email protected] with the subject line containing the word “tree/s” to set up your pick up time. This ensures that I will get the message.

Unless you have made prior arrangements, any trees not picked up by Monday April 28th are subject to being given away to those on our waitlist or donated to local non-profits. As agreed upon when you signed up for your tree, you are responsible for picking them up.
Please note, while our trees are pretty hearty, packaged in their own individual pots, and I care for them as the instructions state, they should be transferred to either a bigger pot or ground as soon as possible.
If you no longer want your tree for whatever reason, please let me know as we always have other families who missed then sign up deadline and will take them😀

I love seeing families year after year celebrate Earth day and do their part to a greener world! This initiative is so amazing and it’s been a pleasure being able to see the organizations reach grow and watch your families (and trees) grow! It’s been such a pleasure meeting new families and connecting with you all ❤️.
𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐔𝐩 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫:
While these will not apply to most of you, in an effort for clear communication and understanding based on experiences throughout the years, I wanted to provide a few reminders and changes for those who may need them to ensure this year runs smoothly and tree distribution is prioritized.
If you miss the deadline to sign up for a tree, you are welcome to join our waitlist, however, I cannot guarantee you will receive one this year.

I am not available 24 hours and I cannot guarantee I will be able to answer outside of the hours states above.
Please allow up to next business day for a reply. If it involves a time constraint or issue on your part for picking up your tree, I will go based off the time you contacted me.  For example, if you email me or contact me on April 27 that you cant pick up for a few days for what ever reason, and I do not respond until April 28, I will still honor your request and your tree will not be subject to being given away. No need to call over and over and repeated emails can cause confusion and potentially hinder a timely pick up. 
If it is outside of pick up hours, especially in the middle of the night, please email me as to avoid notifications that have the ability to wake us up our scare my son.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled pick up time without communication, I cannot guarantee I will be available for pick up. 
I cannot deliver trees to your house.
Unless it is due to disability, I cannot look up your address, provide directions from your address to mine via online searches such as google maps, calculate mileage, or help you or your loved ones navigate your phone apps, especially of you have not made this effort yourself.
I do not know your schedule, please do not ask me what it is or get upset of I don’t know it. You probably have more insight to that information than I do. I also cannot call your spouse or any other family member on your behalf to facilitate one for you.
I cannot come to your home and plant them for you or provide pots, soil, or other gardening needs.
I cannot plant and keep your tree at my house to be picked up later in the year.
I cannot go to the store for you or purchase any materials you may need to care for your plant.
I cannot watch your children while you run to get supplies
My son is my first priority. I will not rearrange his schedule, cancel his (or my) appointments or classes, get a babysitter, or otherwise prioritize your schedule over his.
If multiple people are picking up at the same time, I will provide trees in a first come basis. Unless there is an emergency, we will go in order.
Please do not push others
Please do not attempt to skip the line or “help” by grabbing them yourself or going in unauthorized places.
While Neighborhood Forest does provide a few extra trees in case some arrive damaged, I will not give them out until all others have picked up or after the deadline. Those on the waitlist/ those who did not already receive a tree, will have the first opportunity of any extra or unclaimed trees. This allows more families to participate.
I know waiting can be frustrating or hard for some families. I understand this and respect your time. I make every attempt to have your trees ready at your pick up time, however, it may take me up to five minutes after arrival to open the door. I am disabled and cannot always get up or walk fast. Unfortunately, continued honking or calling repeatedly does not make my body move faster. It also runs the risk of hindering the ability to utilize our pick up location in the future.
Unless it is due to disability and/or prior arrangements have been made, I cannot hand deliver to your car. My son can’t be left alone and its not always possible to bring him with me.I will also prioritize him over your reasons not to do so (unless due to disability). Reasons like not wanting to get out of your car, a sleeping baby (the street is within 15 feet of the parking area), you are on a phone call, your favorite song came on the radio, or not wanting to get rained on are not viable reasons.
I will not move my car so you can park in my driveway
There is ample parking, please do not disturb neighboring homes or businesses by parking in their driveway or assigned spaces. 
If you are picking up for other individuals, they must reach out to me ahead of time to provide consent. It is both of your responsibilities to ensure I know this information, otherwise you will not be able to pick them up.
I have a detailed roster of those who signed up and how many trees they are to received and go based solely on this information. Please remember attempting to take additional trees or misrepresenting your self takes from another participant.

If you respond to my reminder email, social media posts, or other formats about tree pick up, it is a clear sign you received these correspondence and assumed you have also read through it thoroughly. Note, in most cases, these correspondences are dated and time stamped and we both have access to these threads of conversation.
If you are not sure or don’t understand the information provided, feel free to reach out and I will be happy to help clarify, however, if you are confused and do not reach out, I will not know this.
Please keep in mind that I am human, disabled, and a single mom with a child who has high support needs. I do not get paid to facilitate this opportunity and, if needed, use my own funds for any expenses that may arise. I spend hours organizing, making flyers, spreading the word, help families sign up and understand their mission, and go out of my way to provide ample opportunities for pick up and to cater to the most families I can (including creating and offering a waitlist).
Please be respectful to me, my time, and any other persons or establishments who may be helping distribute. Attempting to guilt me or my helpers into any of the above, especially by telling me I/they don’t do enough, will not yield the results you are looking for.
Disrespect of me, my son, or other participants will not be tolerated
I am dyslexic and keep detailed records through out this process to counteract this and I have contingency plans that ensure it doesn’t affect distribution. While mistakes can happen, they rarely do, and it usually stems from miscommunication, missing the sign up deadline, or participants not reading through the information. Please lead with kindness and the understanding that if there is a discrepancy, it is not made maliciously, your concerns will not be dismissed, and we will work together to resolve it.
Attempts at lying or gaslighting or harassment will not be tolerated.
Please note, engaging in the above behavior,  will not hinder your ability to sign up for a tree through Neighborhood Forest in the future, whether it be with me or through one of our local libraries, however, this behavior will result in your inability to attend any Mentoring Tiny Humans led events in the future.
