The proverb "It takes a village to raise a child" poem reminds us that it takes extensive societal support in order to raise emotionally and mentally strong children and families. We all agree that in this time of rapid changes, challenges, and opportunities, we all need a new set of skills in order to deal with the continuous change while maintaining our optimal balance and growth. The world we
live in is anything but static or simple. The world is going through an accelerated change and we are deeply affected by these dynamic, emerging economic, social, environmental, and political changes. This means that with all these changes that are becoming increasingly complex, we need to develop a new set of practical tools and usable skills in order to develop and maintain the high-quality thinking necessary for effectively adapting to them. We have a natural desire to know what it takes to revolutionize our thinking so we can effectively deal with continuous and accelerating change and complexity. Our traditional way of thinking and working was about doing routinized tasks along with dealing with fixed procedures. Learning the basic, necessary skills was not difficult and there was little re-learning involved. The new post-industrial age with all these changes at the global level demands perpetual learning and re-learning. The arising uncertainties about the future make this re-learning and adaptation more challenging and stressful. Our goal is to provide a scientific basis and understanding of what it takes at physical, and mental levels to perform brilliantly every day. Also, we will explore how one can develop practical tools and skills that would help in developing agility, resilience, mindfulness, mind-body tune up, and creative problem solving required for maintaining high performance in workplace and family settings every day.
