Early Big Fresno Fair results are coming in!
Last weekend was the Poultry show. Belinda Martinez exhibited the overall Reserve Supreme Champion and FFA division Champion Pen of 2 Market Chickens. Milagros Montes showed the 5th place pen. Maria Canales won 7th place in Intermediate Poultry Showmanship- the first placing ever for a Mendota FFA student!
Rabbit show results coming soon.
Market and breeding goats will be at the fair this week.
Chickens, rabbits and goats sell at the Jr Livestock Auction part one next Saturday, Oct.4. If you would like to help support our students at the auction, call Mendota HS to reach any of the ag teachers for information.

Congratulations Henry! A first for someone from Mendota FFA. He will help represent California at the convention in Indianapolis in October.

The Mendota FFA CDE teams finished up their judging contest seasons this last weekend traveling to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, for the State FFA Finals. Our Veterinary Science, Light Horse Judging, Cooperative Marketing, and Best Informed Greenhand teams all represented the chapter very well. One highlight was Henry Maciel placing as 3rd high individual in the reasons part of the Horse contest.

After weeks if preparations, two of our CTE ag programs spent the last 4 days at the Caruthers Faiground competing in the Fresno ROP Design/Build activity. Our Ag Welding students spent 3 days building a trailer from scratch. Our Ag Construction students built a large shed and placed first in their competition.
All in all a successful activity for both sets of students and their instructors, Mrs. Carpenter and Mr. Stuhr.

Both our novice and advanced Parliamentary Procedures debate teams placed within the top 4 at the regional contest today! Both teams will be advancing to State Finals in Sacramento next month!

This year's group of Golden State Degree recipients from Mendota received their awards last night at Washington Union HS in Easton. Congratulations to Johanna Berrios, Araseli Diaz, Xcaret Gutierrez, Brandon Lopez, Henry Maciel Lopez, Sandra Melchor-Toledo, Heidi Perez, Yesenia Soriano and Dennis Torres.
