We are to celebrate Visitation Spanish teacher and poet Amanda Rosas, who recently joined MPR News to talk about her experience mentoring teen poets through Voices Forward, a program inviting young writers to reflect on 250 years of U.S. history and imagine the future they hope to see. Link in comments.

Sra Rosas led a workshop called “The Poetics of Freedom Dreaming." As she shared on MPR, “Students inspire us every single day in so many ways.” We couldn’t agree more!

On August 20, Sra. Rosas together with other mentors and young poets will be at the Bell Museum in St. Paul from 6 to 8 p.m. to share their reflections.

A big welcome to the class of 2030! Vis ninth graders gathered today for Orientation, getting to know their new community, connecting with student ambassadors and meeting their Big Sisters, a cherished Vis tradition.

Big Sisters serve as mentors, friends and a welcoming face throughout the year, helping ninth graders feel right at home from day one. A special thank you to student ambassadors for helping make the day so memorable.

We’re so glad you’re here, class of 2030! Let’s make it a great year!

All Vis Lower School families are invited to the annual Welcome Back Picnic on Wednesday, August 19 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies, visit their classrooms, meet their teachers and reconnect and meet new classmates before school begins. Best of all, dinner will be provided, giving families an opportunity to relax and enjoy time together as a community.

Summer at Visitation means getting outside, getting creative and making the most of our beautiful campus! From Animal Art and Artist Camp to Tape Crafts, Vis Summer campers have spent the summer exploring, creating, playing and discovering new things together.

Hospitality has always been part of who we are at Visitation School.

Over the past three days, the Vis Leadership Team gathered for its annual leadership retreat, where they explored the book Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara and reflected on how intentional acts of care can strengthen our school community. Today, they joined educators from across the Twin Cities at The Collaborative to continue learning how to create extraordinary experiences for students and families.

Our Leadership Team is excited to bring new ideas back to Vis as we prepare for the year ahead!

Visitation Athletics is excited to announce Sam Dengerud as the new Head Basketball Coach at Visitation School. Coach Dengerud brings experience at both the high school and AAU levels and impressed our hiring committee with her energy, authenticity and vision for the future of Blazer Basketball.
