Anna Thompson, Sarah Batye, & Aubrey Young were able to tour "Paul Mitchell The School" in Columbia, MO on October 8. They were able to see the entire facility and see students learning at the school. This experience was made possible because of the rootEd program at Northwestern R-1 with advisor, Alyssa Mauzey.

Tonight, we honored our 8th grade Thunder Football players and cheerleaders as they played and cheered on our field for the last time as middle schoolers.

Yesterday Northwestern XC competed in the 1st CLAA Conference Meet. Thank you to all those involved in putting this event on. What a great way to grow the sport in our area!

Varsity boys competed as a team for the first time this season and finished in 2nd place behind the North Carroll Knights with all runners medaling. 🏅

The Junior High SOAR Enrichment class met with Brookfield City Manager, Brandon Roberts, and Interim City Clerk, Sara Dixon.
This meeting provided students with valuable feedback on their Fall project, Future City. In this project, students design a futuristic city that can withstand a disaster. This year’s theme is Fire Resilience.

Prior to the meeting, students researched ways to prevent, protect, and rebuild a community after a fire. They have also researched city features, infrastructure, and zoning. They drafted a list of questions to ask the City Manager. They will next be responsible for creating a city model and explaining their methods of protecting their city.

Congratulations to members of the Northwestern R-1 Eagle Band for participating in the UCM Marching Mule for a Day event! Students performed in the Pep Band, watched multiple Collegiate music performances, toured campus, and attended a UCM Football game. Way to go Musicians!
