I love the quote from Mr. Rogers, “Play gives children the chance to practice what they are learning.”

I am so proud of all these little humans! Looking each other in the eye and saying “May I please have a turn, it’s been two minutes.” “I’m sorry, it was an accident. Are you okay?”

Kindness, being mindful, communicating, connecting.... this is what preschool is for!

Soooo I cut me some bangs and apparently freaked some of the kids out! 😂 “Ms. Hope, you look different.... like weird.” Needless to say, I will NOT be painting my face for Halloween. I can only imagine the reaction I would get! We have been working on letter K today. We read “The Three Little Kittens,” practiced tracing K, then found the match to our “mittens.” I asked them if they would like their face painted like a kitten and they said “well, how about like a spider mask instead.”

Wow these kids are growing! We are constantly working on building our self confidence that we CAN do hard things. I have been so pleased to see many students start to put on their own shoes where a few weeks ago they would just lay on the floor and not give it a try. These kids are doing awesome!!! We have been working on letter S this week. The simplicity of being a kid is so refreshing. Their thoughts are so unique in the way they see the world around them. “Ms. Hope! I think the mail man is hungry.” “If you have two triangles, there are 6 sides!” “Your dog begins with S! (Sage)” I have seen multiple moments of kindness and honest eye to eye communication! I seriously tear up when I see them offer another empathy or invite someone to play with them. ❤️😍 Man I sure do love these kids!

We love to play! I absolutely love to visit with my students at the beginning of each class to hear all about the things that are going on in their lives! ❤️ Our friendships are building, they know I love them and care about them. I want to know what their thoughts and ideas are. I love how animated their expressions are as they tell me about spiders or mice in the house or shooting raccoons or playing with cars 😍. I have been so impressed this week listening to them say, “may I please have a turn” without any prompting!!! This is HUGE! They are learning to look each other in the eye and problem solve on their own. My heart is full!
