History & Growth
Founded in 1970 by Les Fredericks, who recently retired as Executive Director, Hexagon seeks to provide a consistently high quality community theater experience for both its members and all the residents of the Morris County area. Hexagon took its name from the shape of the Grace Lutheran Church in Mendham, its "home base" all these years. While most of our original members were a

lso members of Grace, the current membership rolls show representations of many religious denominations, and a widely spread geographical base. Our not-for-profit organization has presented more than 80 productions over the past 30 years. We have featured hundreds of talented New Jersey performers in several stage classics (see Previous Productions on this page), all to the delight of our faithful audiences. Hexagon Players is a member of the Tri-County Community Association, which represents six community theaters in northern New Jersey (Essex, Morris, and Union counties). JACK SCHLEIFF (Principal Clark) is both nervous and excited to be making his stage debut playing Principal Clark in Hexagon's production of Footloose. After years of watching and supporting his wife, Deborah, from the audience, Jack is now in a supporting role on stage with her!

NICK SHORT (Chuck) is excited to be back with the Hexagon Players for his second production. He previously appeared in Bye Bye Birdie as Harvey Johnson. His past roles include Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof, The Minstrel in Once Upon a Mattress, and Grimsby in The Little Mermaid. Nick is currently a senior at Oratory Prep and is attending college at The Catholic University of America in the fall.

DEBORAH SCHLEIFF (Vi Moore) is excited to be in another production at Investors PAC with Hexagon Players and Ray! Deborah is enjoying being Arial's mother, Vi, as she has watched Abbie grow up through these shows! This show is special because Jack, her husband and #1 fan, is joining her on stage. Deborah's recent shows include The King and I, Bye Bye Birdie and Cole at Burgdorff Center for Performing Arts. Deborah has been singing her entire life and enjoys doing Community Theater. She lives in Washington, NJ with Jack and their 4 fur babies!

RENE DUSSAULT (Reverend Shaw) is happy to be joining the cast of Footloose! Prior to this performance, Rene also played the Reverend Sprague in Hexagon production of Tom Sawyer. More recently, Rene played the Village Rabbi in Fiddler on the Roof at Brundage Park Playhouse. Rene also appeared in Babes in Toyland in the role of Toy Master. Before that, Mr. Dussault was in the Dover Little Theatre production of Family Secrets (Tony Canelloni)(aka Ira Schwartz).

KELLY MILLER (Ethel) is excited to be performing in Footloose for the second time since high school! Kelly has attended New York University (BA in Classical Voice) and Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers (MA in Opera Performance) and is now currently working and teaching at The County College of Morris, while also waitressing at Arthur’s Tavern! She’s performed at many venues; Carnegie Hall, The Kimmel Center, NJ PAC, Morristown PAC, NY Mets Stadium and has performed with the International Vocal Arts Institute. Some of her favorite roles include: Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Cinderella in Cinderella, Lily in The Secret Garden, Eva Peron in Evita, and learning the role of Baby Doe in The Ballad of Baby Doe.

ROBIN MILLER (Aunt Lulu/Betty) is delighted to be back on stage and working with esteemed director Ray Gelpke once again! Favorite past credits include Prudy Pingleton in Hairspray, Mrs. Medlock in The Secret Garden and Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Offstage, Robin is a psychotherapist in private practice in Denville.

KATE CULLIN is thrilled to be returning to the Hexagon stage! Kate has recently appeared in Beauty and the Beast (Mrs. Potts), The Little Mermaid (Andrina), Bye Bye Birdie (Kim MacAfee), and many more shows all over Morris County! Kate attends the Morris County School of Technology, Academy for Performing Arts ~ Theater, where she recently performed in She Kills Monsters, A Christmas Carol and Grease.

MOLLY WALKER is thrilled to be in her first Hexagon Players production. Her previous work includes the shows Xanadu (Ensemble), Into the Woods (Cinderella), and Meet Me in St. Louis (Ensemble).
