The Alcorn State University Cheerleading Program will host our Summer 2026 Commuter Middle & High School Cheer Camp on the campus of Alcorn State University at the Davey L. Whitney Complex from Monday, June 29, 2026, through Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Registration Fees:
• Teams with 1–9 athletes: $50 per athlete
• Teams with 10–19 athletes: $45 per athlete
• Teams with 20–30 athletes: $40 per athlete
• Individual athletes: $50

The deadline to register is June 19, 2026.

We are looking forward to working with cheerleaders from across the region as we focus on skill development, leadership, spirit, and performance.

Today, we celebrate 155 years of excellence!

On this day in 1871, Alcorn University opened its doors as America's first public land-grant HBCU. It was built on the sacred conviction that education is a birthright for every person.

A few amazing facts that we celebrate today!

✅ Founded on the site of Oakland College, purchased by the State of Mississippi for $40,000
✅ First led by U.S. Senator Hiram R. Revels, who resigned his Senate seat to serve as our inaugural president
✅ Grew from 225 acres and 3 buildings to over 1,700 acres and 80+ structures
✅ Expanded from 179 students to more than 3,000 students from across the nation and world
✅ Home to degree programs in 40+ areas, including doctoral-level study

From the Braves of yesterday to the Braves of today, this anniversary belongs to every person who ever walked these grounds, wore the purple and gold, and carried Alcorn's legacy forward.

Alcorn State University conferred degrees upon 472 graduates Saturday during its 2026 Spring Commencement. There were 370 undergraduates and 102 graduate students. Ceremonies were held in the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex on the Lorman campus. The morning ceremony honored graduates from the College....
