After annotating the Declaration of Independence, Mrs. Miller's English II students participated in a courtroom-style debate before a jury of their peers. This project challenged students to analyze key sections of the document, develop evidence-based arguments, and strengthen their writing and speaking skills through a cross-curricular approach. Students also gained valuable insight into courtroom procedures, including the roles of the prosecution, defense, and jury.
