📚🎒 **HELP US SUPPORT MENANDS STUDENTS!** 🎒📚

This Wednesday during Community Night, the Menands Fire Company & Auxiliary will be collecting donations to support the Menands Back to School Drive & Giveaway!

As we get ready to send our local students back to school, we’re asking our community to help us lend a hand. If you’re coming out to Community Night, consider bringing a donation with you!

🥫 Non-perishable food items
👕 New or gently used clothing
🎒 Backpacks & school supplies

All donations will help support Menands families and students as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Look for the Menands Fire Company & Auxiliary this Wednesday at Community Night to drop off your donations!

The Back to School Giveaway will take place August 26th from 9 AM–1 PM at Menands School.

Menands Fire Department – Mutual Aid Standby

Squad 6 is currently standing by at the Defreestville Fire Station while crews operate at a second-alarm search and rescue at the Rensselaer Technology Park for a hiker.

Squad 6 and its crew will provide coverage for the Defreestville Fire District while their members continue operating at the incident.

👕 YOUTH SIZES ARE HERE! We heard from many of you asking for options for our younger supporters, and we listened! Youth sizes are now available so the whole family can show their Menands Strong pride.

🚨 Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment 🚨

At approximately 1:41 AM, the Menands Fire Department operated in the area of First Avenue & Lincoln Avenue, within the Schuyler Heights Fire District, for a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment.

Upon arrival, crews located a vehicle on its side with two occupants trapped inside. The vehicle had come to rest spanning a gully, creating a challenging rescue operation due to its position and stability.

Crews worked to stabilize the vehicle, gain access to the occupants, and perform the extrication. Both occupants were successfully extricated and turned over to EMS for transport and further medical evaluation.

Menands crews returned to service at approximately 2:57 AM.

We would like to thank Colonie EMS, Colonie Police Department, Watervliet Arsenal Fire Department, Latham Fire Department, and Watervliet Fire Department and EMS for their assistance.

📢 Concert in the Park Update! 🎶

Due to the weather forecast, tonight’s Concert in the Park has been moved to the Menands Farmers Market.

Don’t worry—we’ll still be there serving up your favorite food and cold beverages throughout the evening! 🌭🥤

Come out, enjoy some great music, support your local community, and spend the evening with friends and neighbors—rain or shine!

We look forward to seeing everyone tonight!

❗Due to the weather, tonight’s Get Up Jack concert will be held indoors at the Menands Farmers Market, 381 Broadway Menands. Food and beverages will still be available for purchase by the Menands Fire Department, as well as farm produce from A Charles Brizzell Farm & Greenhouses, LLC, local honey by Trackside Honey, and Mr. Ding-A-Ling Ice Cream. Show runs 6:00 - 8:30pm. There will be plenty of parking bringing lawn chairs is suggested.

🎶 Join us tonight for Concerts in the Park! Beat the heat with some delicious food and refreshing drinks served by yours truly while you enjoy a great evening of live music. We can't wait to see you there! ☀️🍔🥤🎵

We are getting excited for the 2nd Concert in the Park tomorrow featuring Lustre Kings and we hope to see you out there! While it may be a warm one, there is usually a nice breeze through the grove area by the Band.

The Menands Fire Department will be selling food and drink and we are scheduled to be joined by Trackside Honey, A Charles Brizzell Farm & Greenhouses, LLC and Mr. Ding-A-Ling Ice Cream. It should be another great night!

The members of the Menands Fire Company would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Menands Union Free School District, its faculty and staff, and especially its incredible students for the thoughtful gifts and kind gesture presented to us at tonight’s company meeting.

Over the past month, our community has faced some incredibly difficult challenges. Throughout both the fire at our station and the recent missing child incident, the Menands School has opened its doors and shown us unwavering hospitality, patience, and support. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed, and it has meant more to our members than words can express.

Tonight’s heartfelt gifts are another reminder of what makes our community so special. To the students who took the time to create and share them—thank you. Your generosity, encouragement, and support lifted our spirits and reminded us why we are so proud to serve the Village of Menands.

We are truly grateful to be part of a community that stands together through every challenge. Thank you, Menands School, for all that you have done and continue to do.

🎶 Concerts in the Park kick off TONIGHT! 🎶

The weather is looking like it’s going to cooperate, making it a perfect evening to get outside and enjoy the first Concert in the Park of the season!

Tonight’s entertainment features The New York Players, bringing great music to kick off the summer series.

🍔🌭 Food and beverages will be served by your friends at the Menands Fire Company, so come hungry and support your local fire company while enjoying a great night with family, friends, and neighbors.

Bring a lawn chair, relax, and help us celebrate the start of another great season of community fun. We can’t wait to see everyone tonight!
