Today was a busy day at EAST Con ‘25, but we have had so much fun 🥳 We began the day with opening session and getting to hear Ms. Arkansas discuss her time in EAST and how it helped develop her platform for her pageant career. Then we moved into booth showcase and judging… I heard our kids KILLED IT, but I’m not surprised. We all went to the Bank OZK Arena to support our Make48 Finalist team and watch them present on the big stage. So proud of their effort and dedication to this competition! Although they didn’t win first place, they came home with some pretty cool Craftsman sanders as a prize for making it to top 5!
After we were done at conference today, we enjoyed some dinner and had a fun time at Funtrackers Family Fun Park!

We are looking for a grant and/or a place that would donate to help provide funds for an indoor playground setup for when there is inclement weather and the kids are stuck inside.

Sitting elementary age students in front of a screen every time it rains or is too cold is not ideal -- these students need a space to get energy out before having to go sit inside of the classroom from 7:15 am - 4:15 pm. Very rural school, high population (73%+) of free/reduced lunch, less than 800 students k-12.

EAST students: Aubrie Boyd, Shelby Rusert, and Natalie Mabry
This project was full of trial and error, but these girls prevailed and created sublimated, metal signs for our running trails on campus. These should last the test of time, and help runners keep track of which course they are on. We have some amazing students in AHS EAST!

EAST students Amy May, Christian Christiana, and Gabriel Lickly were chosen as finalists to compete in the MAKE48 Innovation competition. They are tasked with creating a product that will identify a common challenge zoos face and create a new product that addresses it. Their innovation should not only solve a problem but also enhance the overall zoo experience for visitors or support the zoo’s operational goals. Stay tuned to see what they create and how they do in round 2 -- coming February 7th!

Recently, EAST students Adalyn Bohlman and Aubrie Boyd have been hard at work creating animal habitats that will enhance science education at our elementary school. Additionally, Hayden Wagner, Caden Tarkinton, and Eilam Holland have been creating and installing maps for our cross country courses! SO PROUD!

🎉 One of our EAST groups decided to focus on bringing fun science education into the classroom. They had an amazing time today partnering with the 3rd and 4th grade G/T students for a fun and exciting science lab today! 🧪 We explored the chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar and watched in awe as it filled up a balloon! 🎈💥 A hands-on experiment that made learning both fun and memorable!
