Ag Mechanics and Precision Ag students participated in a 2x4 challenge this week. Students received one 2”x4”x8’ board and had to design and build something with their group. We definitely had some creative projects.

Yesterday, Mena Agriscience students had the opportunity to travel to Collinsville, Oklahoma, with Mr. McCormick for a unique hands-on learning experience!

The students assisted with an IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) procedure on two of Mr. McCormick’s does from his livestock operation, McCormick Livestock. They didn’t just get to observe the process—they were able to get involved! Students assisted by holding instruments during the procedure and giving the does their post-procedure injections before helping move them to the recovery pen.

Experiences like this allow our students to take what they learn in the classroom and see it applied in a real-world livestock production setting. We are thankful for opportunities that allow our students to gain valuable hands-on experience in animal science, reproduction, and livestock management.
