GSL has offered its 7th and 8th graders a summer travel opportunity out of the country for many years now, and this year, chaperones Julie Binder, Kimberly White, and Jeff White are taking 15 students to Costa Rica! The trip will include visits to Tortuguero National Park, Arenal, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio National Park, and more. Safe travels, Saints! ⚓

GSL Middle Schoolers hit the stage at Hi Tone this month to play a little Led Zeppelin with School of Rock musicians - how cool is that?! 😎 Fans, faculty, friends, and alumni were out to support these talented students--it was an awesome show. Can’t wait to see rising 8th grader Ka'Myla (guitar), rising 7th graders Jonas (bass) and Rowan (drums), rising 6th grader Morgan, and Eddie '23 and Christian '23 on stage again in the future! 🤩🎸🥁🤘

Former parent Tiffany Oatis organized the sweetest tribute today for our Head of Middle School Ellen Hendry. She gathered members of the Class of 2022 at GSL to visit with Mrs. Hendry (before she retires and they head off to college!). Many thanks to Tiffany and these alumni for their thoughtfulness. ❤️⚓❤️We loved having them back on campus, and we are all going to miss Ellen so much! 🥰

Kind of a tradition to let the 8th graders have parachute play during their final P.E. at GSL! Many thanks to Coach for getting this footage 🪂⚓❤️

Honors Chapel 2026! The unveiling of the 7th grade class banner, recognition of our Honor Council and Student Council, and presentation of some fantastic Middle School students awards were among many highlights. For the grand finale, we honored our amazing fourth graders on the successful completion of their Lower School experience. What a privilege to celebrate all these important accomplishments! 👏

Our fifth graders got a glimpse of life in the business world during their recent day at JA BizTown, and this year, we even got to run City Hall! Students put their critical thinking skills to work and experienced a variety of business roles at AutoZone, Baptist, Regions Bank, FedEx, TVA, and much more—it was a great learning experience for everyone. Many thanks to for helping our kids become world ready! Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South

Our final Celebration Chapel was packed with so much fun on Friday! We started by singing Happy Birthday to EVERYONE who will have a birthday from now until the first day of school in August! 🥳We bestowed Latin, Spanish, and AR awards on deserving and hard-working students. We honored beloved Middle School faculty members Ellen Hendry and Lyn Forsyth, who retire this year, and recognized our 10-, 20-, and 30-year service awardees. We announced Preschool and Lower School Spanish Teacher Carmen Navarro as the recipient of the school’s prestigious Lorena Webber Walker Award! And finally, we concluded with the incredible 8th grade talent show, which featured performances by Mila, Miles, Sebi, and Lilly. So proud of all of these Saints!
