Congratulations to Middle School Teacher Allison Booten for being recognized at the end of the 2025-2026 school year with the Whatever-It-Takes (WIT) Award! This award was established by Head of School Adam Moore in the spring of 2024 to honor a distinguished faculty or staff member who exemplifies an exceptional commitment to going above and beyond. Presented annually, the "WIT" Award recognizes someone who consistently exhibits a do-whatever-it-takes approach and maintains an outstanding attendance record.
Here are a few things mentioned about Mrs. Booten by her peers during the nomination process:
"Allison deserves this award because she consistently goes above and beyond for our students both inside and outside the classroom. She creates a welcoming environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed....."
"Allison is always the first one to step up, volunteer, or put in hours beyond what is expected of her!"
"Allison loves her job as a teacher. She loves working with students on a regular basis. She is willing to help teachers too when needed. She has helped with countless extracurricular activities throughout the years, including coaching the track team, leading Robotics teams, the National Junior Honor Society, our HOUSE Program, and much more."

What a meaningful way to celebrate one of our final Lower School chapels of the year!
Our SK students brought joy to the room as they recited the ABC’s of the Bible, while our 4th grade students shared verses from the book of Proverbs and created posters to illustrate each one.
Proverbs was written by Solomon, known as the wisest man in the Bible, and our students did a wonderful job bringing these scriptures to life through their creativity and understanding.
What a meaningful way to end the year focused on God’s Word and wisdom!

PK spent one of their final days of school enjoying a special Garden Day full of sunshine, hard work, and fun!
Students planted and watered flowers while exploring our new fort, the pond, sand tables, mud kitchen, dinosaur bed, and simply the joy of being outside together. After a busy morning in the garden, they celebrated with a picnic lunch and popsicles!
When asked what their favorite part of Garden Day was, many students had the same answer: “Everything!” 💚

For the third year in a row, Woodland’s yearbook has been selected for the 2026 Walsworth Gallery of Excellence! 🎉
Only a small percentage of yearbooks across the country receive this honor. The Gallery of Excellence recognizes books that reflect thoughtful planning, strong storytelling, creative design, and a commitment to capturing the true spirit of the school community.
This level of excellence does not happen without steady leadership, a dedicated staff, and students who work tirelessly to preserve the memories of the school year.
We are so proud of our yearbook team for continuing this tradition of excellence and for creating a book that truly tells the Woodland story.
