What began in 1990 with just ten students praying at their school has grown into a global day of student prayer. Today, our Middle School students gathered together on the front field to lift up their friends, teachers, school, and nation to God. We are grateful for these students and their willingness to pause, pray, and seek God together.

One of our favorite Woodland traditions is our 1st & 8th grade friend reveal day!!
This is a day we all look forward to each year as our students meet their new friends and begin a special friendship bond that grows throughout the year. From spending time together to cheering each other on, these friendships create memories and connections that our students will carry with them for years to come.

Last week, we hosted Early Childhood and Lower School families for our annual Open House, offering an inside look at daily classroom life!

Students proudly guided their parents around classrooms, sharing writing samples, demonstrating their classroom "jobs," showcasing new math games, and highlighting much more of what they've accomplished so far this quarter. It was wonderful to welcome parents into our building and celebrate the impressive work happening every day with our students.

Woodland parents came together this week as a Woodland community to pray over our school, our students, our teachers, and our families. This first gathering of the year was led by Jake Ferwerda, who is serving as the WPO Chaplin for the 26-27 school year.

Jake shares, “My hope for Parents in Prayer this year is to bring our thoughts and prayers before our all-powerful Creator, who cares about the smallest problem of the smallest children and intimately knows His creation. Let us pray as we gather as ‘Parents in Prayer’ as an act of worship, bringing our requests, our thanksgivings, and our praises for the Woodland community to the only One who can provide for our every need.”

Today was an exciting day at Woodland as we revealed our 2026–2027 HOUSE groups! HOUSE is one of the ways we live out our school’s core operating principles while helping prepare our students to be contributing, confident, and productive members of society.

Today, everyone shuffled around and joined their “HOUSE” for the 2026–2027 school year!

The wait is finally over!! It was an exciting week at Woodland as our students got to experience the new slide in the Tim Tatum courtyard!! This is part of a multi-phase campus improvement plan designed to enhance our families, enrich our programs, and empower our students for success.
