Southeast Elementary Families,
As we continue focusing on Habit #1: Be Proactive, we’re helping our Squires understand that being proactive in their learning doesn’t mean everything will come easily. Sometimes leadership looks like sticking with something even when it’s hard.
That’s where productive struggle comes in!
When your scholar gets stuck on homework or a challenging task, try not to immediately give them the answer. Instead, give them space to think, try a strategy, make a mistake, ask a question, and try again.
Try asking:
“What have you tried so far?”
“What’s another strategy you could use?”
“Show me the part you understand.”
“What could you try before I help?”
Those moments of struggle can build confidence, perseverance, independence, and ownership.
Now we want to hear from our families!
What is something your Squire has overcome this month?
Drop it in the comments, or share a picture of your scholar showing perseverance and growth! 💙
Let’s celebrate the progress; not just the perfect result.
Be a Light. Be a Leader. Be Southeast.
