This past weekend, Wynners Academy had the opportunity to partner with the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and their Young Women of Excellence (YWOE) program for an interactive financial literacy experience. NCBW Memphis & Noble Point Management & Accounting

Brittany led a hands-on simulation focused on the real first steps of transitioning into adulthood. Participants explored how career choices connect to salary, how to choose housing based on cost, safety, and reliability, and how to make smart financial decisions by prioritizing needs over wants while preparing for unexpected expenses.

The engagement in the room was powerful. The young women were fully involved, asking questions, thinking critically, and applying what they learned in real time.
One of the biggest takeaways was the honest conversation around how financial decisions can feel overwhelming and stressful, and how intentional planning can reduce that stress. We also discussed how to tap into community resources for financial education, support, and long-term success.
Moments like this are exactly why we do the work. Exposure, preparation, and confidence building are key.

Our Mission has always been bigger than education alone. We are building a preventive programming model that creates exposure early and serves as a pipeline into opportunities like TN Achieves, workforce development initiatives, internships, and career pathways.

Some key takeaways from the tnAchieves MemCOMPLETE program future workforce even today:
• Prepare & Invest
• “Exposure is Key” – Brian Harris
• Students need help navigating beyond survival mode
• Seeing the pathway and understanding the outcome increases success
• Parent involvement and proactive support matter
• Memphis needs connected programming that serves as stepping stones, not silos
• "High Wage + High Demand + High Mobility = High Impact" – Sonia Droulijovska

At Wynners Academy, we are committed to helping students understand not just their next step… but the step after that.
Because workforce development starts with exposure, guidance, and showing young people what is possible.

Memphis has already produced young entrepreneurs who refused to wait for “someday.”

Moziah Bridges, a Memphis native, turned a childhood interest in fashion into a nationally recognized brand, Mo’s Bows. Wynner’s Academy exists to help turn that potential into preparation, confidence, and action.
