Apartment Association of Greater Memphis board members took Memphis multifamily’s voice to Washington, D.C. and this historic housing win shows why those conversations matter. 🏛️

Earlier this year, three AAGM representatives joined hundreds of rental housing professionals from across the country to meet directly with lawmakers and advocate for policies that support housing supply and affordability.

Now, the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is officially law.

The legislation is designed to:

• Expand housing supply
• Reduce barriers to development
• Modernize federal housing programs
• Streamline certain inspections and reviews
• Support more rental and homeownership opportunities

This was a nationwide effort led by the National Apartment Association, but local voices were part of it. Every meeting gives lawmakers a clearer understanding of how housing policies affect operators, communities, and residents back home.

Thank you to our AAGM board members and every housing professional who continues to show up, speak up, and advocate for the future of our industry.

Community nominations for the 2026 Diamond Achievement Awards close Friday, September 4. ⏰

That gives you two weeks to recognize the people and teams making a difference within AAGM member communities.

Categories in this round include:

• Best Resident Activities
• Leasing Professional of the Year
• Assistant Community Manager of the Year
• Community Manager of the Year
• Outstanding Management Team

Each entry requires a $60 nomination fee. Review the award criteria now so you have the required documentation and detailed answers ready.

Remember: DAA judges are not affiliated with the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis. Give them the full story and clearly explain why your nominee deserves to win.

The Golf Scramble is on a temporary hiatus, but the sound effects clearly are not. ⛳😂

This year, the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis is shaking things up and heading to TopGolf for a relaxed afternoon of games, networking, food, and very committed golf ball noises.

🏌️‍♀️ Golfers are welcome.
😃 Non-golfers are welcome.
🧍 People who just want fajitas and a reason to network outside the office are also very welcome.

Here’s what to know:

🏌️ Bay for 6 players | $750
Includes 3 hours of Topgolf gameplay, Fajita Fiesta Buffet, soft drinks, dessert, and 1 drink ticket per player.

Individual players (limited) | $150
