Yesterday, the St. Agnes Academy–St. Dominic School community gathered in prayer to formally welcome and commission Dr. Shannon Gomez as President. As alumni, we know that St. Dominic is more than a school. It is a place where lifelong brotherhood begins, faith is nurtured, and the foundation is built for all that lies ahead. It is a community rooted in faith, service, and the extraordinary legacy of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. We honor all who came before us while looking with hope and excitement toward the future. Here’s to the next chapter—and to all the Suns who will be part of it. 💜☀️

Get to Know Dr. Shannon Gomez!☀️
We were so excited to welcome Dr. Shannon Gomez, an experienced and passionate Catholic educator, to our community in July! She quickly acclimated to campus, and we have loved welcoming her and her family to this amazing place.
We recently invited our students to submit questions for Dr. Gomez, and she graciously agreed to sit down with us for a special Q&A!☀️

We are excited to welcome Dr. Shannon Gomez as the new President of St. Agnes Academy–St. Dominic School!☀️🌟
As alumni, we know the lifelong impact of an SAA-SDS education, and we are thrilled to see our beloved school begin this new chapter under Dr. Gomez’s leadership. We look forward to the future as she partners with students, families, faculty, staff, and fellow alumnae to continue the legacy that has shaped generations of women.
Dr. Gomez shares this message with our community:

“What a gift it is to write to you for the very first time as President of this extraordinary community! I am Dr. Shannon Gomez, and I am honored to serve as your new President. A little about me: I am a mom of six, an educator with more than 25 years of experience, and someone for whom faith and family are everything. My husband Art and I are proud to call Memphis our new home, and three of our own children will walk these halls.

My investment in SAA-SDS is not simply professional. It is personal. It is familial. It is, in every sense, a matter of faith and a matter of the heart. I hope that you all enjoy a blessed second half of your summer. I cannot wait to meet you.”

Brotherhood Begins Here! Seventeen members of the SDS Class of 2022 graduated from Christian Brothers High School on May 9. These young men made their mark at St. Dominic School and have continued to shine!

Eight of our Suns earned recognition as De La Salle Scholars, representing the most dedicated and gifted students. Over 80% of the SDS Class of 2022 graduated from CBHS with Honors, and 65 % of the class are members of the National Honor Society. Our SDS alumni held leadership roles, played varsity sports, and served their community - living out our Dominican Pillars of Study, Prayer, Community and Service. These young men are scholars, leaders, athletes and brothers.
