Our Running Man is hiding around campus this week. Mrs. Lawler’s 5th graders found him today! Jackson, Jaxson and Preston spied him first, and these 5th graders received a sweet treat. 🎉

Congratulations to Maliyah Williams, Taylor Price, Natalie Quiles, and Charlotte Gardino, who are coached by Ms. Gatlin and Ms. Gavin, for competing against other middle schoolers from across the Diocese in the SBA Academics Day 2023. These students went through 7 rounds of questions and earned over 400 points!

This morning our 3rd graders showcased their very own businesses. They are studying goods and services in Social Studies and developed a business plan, name & slogan for their business, brochures, a diorama rendering of their brick & motor store, and a speech to sell their products or services to potential customers. We are so proud of these young entrepreneurs!

In like a lion, out like a lamb. Our March weather can include some pretty windy days but Ms. Rebecca’s 2k students have a solution to make those windy days more fun: beautiful windsocks! 🎐

In Coach Carly’s 3rd grade PE class, her students are learning the sport of Pickleball. Pickleball combines the elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. These students play to a score of 11 and are learning underhanded serves. How fun! 🏓

2nd grade loves hanging out, being silly, and spending time with friends everyday during recess! 🛝👯‍♀️👦🏼🌳

We are halfway through our Lenten journey and today, on the Solemnity of St. Joseph, our 1st and 2nd grade students meditated on the Stations of the Cross.

Mrs. Edwards’s & Mrs. Nall’s Kindergarten students celebrated the feast day of St. Patrick by studying about the patron saint and the traditions of this special day. Some activities were creating St. Patrick stained glass windows, using recyclables to make leprechaun traps, and making rainbow slime. ☘️

While the students were on Spring Break, Declan O’Kelly, Mr. O’Kelly’s twin brother, visited campus. Do you think our creative Kindergartners were successful in trapping Declan in one of their leprechaun traps?

If you are a 4th grader in class, you are studying the recorder, and Miss. Gibson makes it fun! These students practice their breathing by blowing on feathers. Miss. Gibson says that to be an effective recorder player, a musician must breathe on their feather with a Bahama Breeze and not an Arctic Blast! 🪶 As these young musicians continue to develop their recorder skills, Miss. Gibson moves them up in belt ranks. Ask your favorite 4th grader what belt rank they are working towards.

We had some creative dressed up vocabulary words walking in TLC’s 1st-5th grade Vocabulary Parade last Friday. Our students even participated as well.

Holy Rosary’s TLC hosted its 1st annual Vocabulary Parade this afternoon for our 1st-5th graders. Our teachers and students made word recognition fun after reading “Miss Alaineus: A Vocabulary Disaster” by Debra Frasier. Here are some of our amazing teachers as words all dressed up!

One of our HR traditions is the Around the World country selection by Mrs. Curtis’ 7th grade social studies students. Mrs. Lisa Rouse is a current 7th grade parent and Canadian native. She spent time yesterday talking about the wonderful country of Canada. 🇨🇦

She explained that Canada is divided into Provinces & Territories and that 90% of citizens live within 150 miles of the US/Canadian border. It is also the longest international border in the world. Aborigines and Eskimos live in the remote areas and Canadians are known for their rich ethnic culture. 1/3 of the population are immigrants. Canada is a member of The Commonwealth as this nation is still closely tied to Great Britain and the Royals, and uses British Pounds as it’s currency. 💷

Catholic schools are publicly funded in Canada and there is a heavy Catholic influence in the country. Everyone in Canada takes French, however French in Canada is very different than in France. Finally, Mrs. Rouse told the students that the television, the telephone and basketball were all invented by Canadians. ?

3rd grade! It’s Charlotte's Web Day! Charlotte visited Mrs. Hogan's classroom today and her students did several fun activities including a writing project, a STEM challenge, and a compare/contrast between the novel and the movie. 🕷️🕸️🐖 That’s some teacher!

Our 7/8 Boys Soccer team, coached by Mr. Danny (Salinas), had a great first game vs Grace Saint Luke's that resulted in a 1-1 tie.

Our 1st-4th grade Rams continue to play some amazing games, dominating opponents, as well as clinching some nail biters at the buzzer and in overtime. 🏀

Mrs. Thomas' and Mrs. Boutwell's 1st graders ended their science unit on the Earth’s Surface with Exploration Stations with rocks. These little scientists examined, measured, weighed, compared, described and researched different rocks and minerals. 🪨

Mark your calendars for the Race For Education on Friday, April 21st! It is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. We are asking for your support so we can replace the cafeteria roof and paint the school hallways! Join us on Race Day to encourage our students who will be walking or jogging a 1/4 mile track for 1 hour in support of our school.
