Today’s Plant & Play brought our families out to help get the playground ready for the new year- planting flowers and running off the last of that summer energy. Thank you to everyone who came and dug in!! It’s going to be a good year 🌼

Some math tells you a lot about a school: one of our teachers has been here since 1993. Several teachers first walked through our doors as EUMK parents themselves. They loved this place so much as families that they came back to teach here. That's not an accident. Parents have occasionally asked us why some of the art that comes home looks like a happy little disaster. 🤣Fair question! Here’s our answer: We care more about what happened while your child made it than how it looks on the fridge. We’re a process art school. We hand children the paint, the glue, the odd bits of paper, and then we get out of the way. The wobbly, the messy, the “what even is this?”- that’s a 3 year old taking a risk and learning she’s allowed to.

We don't use a curriculum you can buy in a box. Every week at our school is built around a single book. One “spotlight book” sets the whole week in motion- the art table, the building blocks, the songs at circle time, the counting games. It's a way of teaching we've built and refined ourselves since 1970, and it's why no two weeks here ever look the same.

The EUMK parents SPOILED us last week for Teacher Appreciation week! From Sonic Drinks, Sunrise Breakfast, “The Snack Cart”, Tzatziki’s Lunch, to Ice Cream on Friday- our jeans felt tight and our hearts felt FULL! Thank you Parent Council for loving us so well! The best gift is knowing your sweet sweet children 🩷
