With enthusiasm, last Tuesday, the kindergarten board unanimously voted to appoint Rena Hiatt as Assistant Director of EUMK. This year will be Rena’s 26th year at our school. For twenty-two years, she taught children whose ages ranged from one to four. As a classroom teacher, she was a presenter during an annual TAEYC conference, sharing her skillset on developmentally appropriate teaching practices for two year olds. Since the fall of 2016, Rena has been a part of the administrative team and has served as Student Relations and Enrollment Coordinator. From November of 2017 through May of 2018, she was Interim Director of EUMK. During that time, she was a vital part of the NAEYC accreditation process. Due to her broad lens of experiences, she provides a wealth of knowledge and expertise about the daily functions of EUMK as well as easily connecting to our personnel, students, and parents. Please join us in congratulating Rena on her new role .

Nelie Waller founded the early childhood program which began with one class of four year olds and one class of kindergarteners.
