ποΈ First Class. First Legacy. π¦
As part of Eighth Grade Week, STAR Academyβs very first eighth grade class took learning beyond the classroom with an unforgettable βDay in Downtown Memphisβ during their City Hall tour experience! ππ
Our students had the opportunity to step inside Memphis City Hall, learn about the many careers and responsibilities that help keep our city running, and hear directly from professionals making an impact throughout the city every single day.
From leadership and public service to youth advocacy and community development, this experience gave students real-world insight into how local government operates and how they can become future leaders right here in Memphis. β¨
A huge THANK YOU to the incredible tour guides, speakers, and staff members who welcomed our students and poured knowledge into them throughout the day. We also want to give a special thank you to Mahogany for the amazing food and hospitality during lunch, and to Brian Harris, Director of Youth Services, for speaking encouragement, leadership, and wisdom into our students.
This was more than just a tour. It was a meaningful moment for the first graduating eighth grade class in STAR Academy history, and a reminder that our students are capable of achieving great things when exposed to new opportunities and experiences. π¦
