We are proud of BCA alumna, Akuel Nyok, for being awarded “Scholar of the Month” at Evangelical Christian School. Akuel is thriving in her senior year at ECS Eagles. Way to shine bright Akuel - your BCA family is cheering you on!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at BCA! Parents check out all the fun ways we are encouraging students to celebrate the season this month. 🎄
The 2024-2025 oratorical competition was a great triumph. By instilling in middle school students the significance of public speaking, we are equipping them with essential communication skills that will benefit them in their academic, professional, and personal endeavors. We take immense pride in the accomplishments of our BCA scholars. Congratulations to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners and all those who participated. Also, we want to give a special shout-out to The River City TN Chapter of The Links, Incorporated for serving as judges sponsoring prizes for the winners.
Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
BCA Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes enjoyed a visit from students at Hutchison School this past Friday. The students read fall themed books to the classes and gave away books for each student to take home. 🍁📚💛
We can’t truly “fall back” without remembering all the fun from last week’s Red Ribbon Week festivities! BCA students and staff showed they love a good theme and can dress up with the best of them. More importantly students showed their dedication and commitment to living a drug free life!
BCA is blessed with awesome community partners that encourage and inspire students to dream big! Thank you Paragon Bank for always cheering our students on to do great things!
BCA 5th - 8th graders had the opportunity to take a Master Dance Class taught by the Artistic Director of PILOBOLUS Dance Company, Mr. Matt Kent. Pilobolus is known for their physical interaction, contortions, and athleticism. The company's name comes from the Pilobolus fungus, and their performances are inspired by the fungus's ability to throw its spores. The company was founded in 1971 and their performances have been featured on Broadway and Sesame Street. The master class encouraged students to work together in teams to come up with creative shapes and movements.
Pilobolus is performing at the GPAC this weekend. We are grateful to Mr. Kent for taking time out of his busy schedule to give our students a fun taste of the arts!
Thursday was Decades Day and Tacky Day for Red Ribbon Week! Students and staff showed school spirit by dressing up in clothes from their favorite decade and/or came dressed in their tackiest outfit. BCA believes in having fun while showing our commitment to living a drug-free life. Remember, it's cool to be drug-free!
On Day 1 of Red Ribbon Week, students and staff showed their support by wearing red and taking the pledge to stay drug and alcohol-free. BCA is committed to promoting a healthy, substance-free lifestyle.
Starting Wednesday, October 23th BCA students will celebrate Red Ribbon Week! We know that being drug free is essential for living a productive, godly life! We encourage students to dress up for each day’s theme as an outward expression of their commitment to being drug free.
Thank you to the Memphis Light, Gas & Water (MLGW) STEM Team for collaborating with us during our first parent-teacher conferences of the school year. We had a significant number of parents of third through fifth-grade students sign their children up to participate in the STEM program this school year.
It's exciting to see BCA students exploring the world of STEM!🔬
The Shelby County Republican Women generously provided enough books for BCA’s third graders to select a few for their personal home library. Thank you for recognizing us during national literacy month - we are truly grateful for your support. 📚🙏🏽
BCA K4 and K5 students were blessed with a visit from students from Memphis University School yesterday as part of the school’s day of service. The MUS high schoolers read books, did crafts, and participated in recess time with both classes. We hope to see you again soon!

Today we were blessed with supplies gathered from a drive held by the Grand Krewe of Ptolemy Memphis. Thank you to the members of Ptolemy and friends of Ptolemy for helping make sure BCA students and staff have the supplies they need for a successful school year. 📚✏️🍎
