A new chapter begins, rooted in a legacy that has shaped generations of Stars.⭐️
Yesterday, the St. Agnes Academy–St. Dominic School community gathered in prayer to formally welcome and commission Dr. Shannon Gomez as President—marking a meaningful moment in our school’s 175-year story. As alumnae, we know that St. Agnes is more than a school. It is a legacy we carry with us, built on faith, community, service, and the extraordinary dedication of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. We honor all who came before us while looking with hope and excitement toward the future. Here’s to the next chapter—and to all the Stars who will be part of it. 💙⭐️

Caterer, chef, author, and beloved Southern food expert, Elizabeth has brought her famous flavors even closer to home! Her delicious Southern favorites, including her famous chicken salad and signature pimento cheese, are made locally with love and are perfect for your next gathering. And trust us... they are SO yummy! 😋
Just in time for football season, these are a must-have for tailgates, game days, parties, or honestly... just eating straight from the container. 😉
We love seeing our incredible alumnae share their talents with the world and this is one delicious way to celebrate! 🩵⭐️

🌟When SAA connections come full circle!🌟
Sometimes, the bonds formed at St. Agnes reach farther than we ever imagined! Virginia Willingham Davis ’03 and Madelyn Kelly Miller ’18 recently discovered just how small the world can be while working as dietitians in Tuscaloosa, AL. Now, they’re taking the court together as head coach and assistant coach of the Tuscaloosa Academy Middle School Volleyball Team!🌟
Although they graduated from SAA 15 years apart, Virginia and Madelyn quickly became friends and found an instant connection through the shared values and foundation they received at Saint Agnes.🌟
“We share so much of the same values because of how we were taught at Saint Agnes,” Virginia shared. “It has been such a joy to help instill those same values in our Middle School Volleyball team here at Tuscaloosa Academy.”🌟
We love seeing two SAA Stars carrying the spirit of St. Agnes with them—and sharing those same values with the next generation! We’re so grateful for the lifelong friendships, connections and impact of an SAA education. Once a Star, always a Star!🌟

✨Once a Star, always a Star!✨
We’re thrilled to welcome two SAA alumnae back home—this time as members of the SAA-SDS team!
Elizabeth Smith Neu, ’08 joins us as our Kindergarten–2nd Grade Science teacher. A St. Agnes alumna and current parent, Elizabeth holds an undergraduate degree in Science and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and is excited to inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of science in our youngest learners.

Claire Pinkston Hudson, ’06 joins us as our Registrar. With a Master of Health Administration degree and 11 years of systems management experience, Claire brings valuable expertise to our school community. She is also a parent to two SAA Stars!

Get to Know Dr. Shannon Gomez!🌟
We were so excited to welcome Dr. Shannon Gomez, an experienced and passionate Catholic educator, to our community in July! She quickly acclimated to campus, and we have loved welcoming her and her family to this amazing place.
We recently invited our students to submit questions for Dr. Gomez, and she graciously agreed to sit down with us for a special Q&A!🌟
Take a few minutes to get to know our new President a little better, hear her answers to questions submitted by our students, and learn more about the woman behind the role.
