PVS Daily Quiz Question, Challenge & Reflections:

The Question for Day 29 is:
1. What is the story that is mentioned in the beginning of the 29th Juz about the two men with gardens?
2. In Surah Al-Haqqah, it mentions the people who will receive their records in their right hand and the people who will receive it in their left hand. What will the people who received their book in the right hand say? What will the people who receive their book in the left hand say? Why will they say this?
3. What is the story of Nuh that is mentioned in the 29th Juz?

RAMADAN DAILY CHALLENGE:
We have reached the end of Ramadan. It is possible that today or tomorrow is the last day of this holy and blessed month.

Do not see the end of Ramadan as an ending, but rather, look at it as the beginning. Allah has given us Ramadan as a blessing and as a means for us to draw nearer to Him, His religion, His book, and His prophet. We have developed good habits, did extra good deeds, and extra acts of worship throughout this month. Just because Ramadan is ending, it does not mean that we have to stop doing all the good that we did during the month. During Ramadan we are supposed to develop these good habits so that we can continue to do them throughout the year.

For today's challenge, we challenge you to make a plan that will layout the good deeds you will do throughout the year. If you prayed extra prayers and sunnah prayers, continue to pray extra prayers and sunnah prayers. If you donated more, continue to donate. If you recited and memorized more Quran, continue to recite and memorize Quran. If you did more dhikr, continue to do dhikr. You fasted this entire month, continue to do sunnah fasts throughout the year. If you did any form of good deeds or acts of worship, continue to do them even after Ramadan ends. A sign of your Ramadan being accepted is that you continue to do the good habits you developed even after Ramadan has ended. Even if you feel as if you wasted this entire Ramadan, know that you can receive Allah's mercy anytime of the year and you can become better today. Let the end of this Ramadan mark the beginning of you following the path to becoming a better person. May Allah accept our entire Ramadan, allow us to continue to do good, and keep us steadfast on the straight path. Ameen.

We have posted this before, but we would like to remind you to continue to say this dua throughout the last nights of Ramadan inshaAllah:

ANSWERS TO DAY 28 QUESTIONS:
1. How many names of Allah are mentioned in Surah Al-Hashr? Name three names of Allah and give their meanings. If you do not include the name "Allah" there are about 20 names of Allah that are mentioned (but it is possible that I miscounted).
2. There is a group of people who Allah says are the enemies and He will never forgive. Who are these people? Quote your evidence. In Ayat 1 to 6 in Surah Munafiqun, Allah describes the hypocrites as enemies and people He will not forgive.
3. What does Allah mean when He compares the people who were given the Torah to a donkey that carries volumes of books on its back? They are not benefiting from the knowledge. A donkey carrying books on his back is useless to him because he is not actually gaining or benefiting from the knowledge.

RAMADAN DAILY CHALLENGE:
Some of our scholars say that nothing increases ones Iman in Allah as much as studying Allah's names and attributes.

Learning the names and attributes of Allah can help increase you in Iman, Ihsan, Taqwa, Tawakkul, and help increase your love in Allah. Almost every single page of the Quran contains a handful of Allah's names and there is great wisdom behind it. Allah describes His names and attributes as Husnah, which means the best. There is nothing that is better than Him and His names and attributes.

Within the 28th Juz, Surah Al-Hashr contains three ayat that contain a handful of Allah's names. It is also said that if you recite these ayat then angels will ask for mercy for you.

For today's challenge, we challenge you to memorize and recite the last three ayat of Surah Al-Hashr every day.

RAMADAN DAILY CHALLENGE:
Yesterday, one of the daily questions asked about a special dua you should make whenever you ride in the car.
The dua was سُـبْحانَ الّذي سَخَّـرَ لَنا هذا وَما كُنّا لَهُ مُقْـرِنين، وَإِنّا إِلى رَبِّنا لَمُنـقَلِبون ,

which is mentioned in ayat 13 and 14 of Surah Al-Zukhruf.

The meaning of this dua is as follows: "Glory is to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we were not capable to do it. And, surely, to our Lord are we returning."

By saying this dua, we are acknowledging the fact that Allah is the one who has made it possible for the car to move and that without Him, we could not have do it on our own. Some of the Sahabahs used to say this dua when they would ride their camels or horses.

Today, many people say it when they drive or ride in a car or you can say it when you use any mode of transportation like a train, bike, or airplane. For today's daily challenge, we challenge you to memorize this dua and use it every time you ride (or drive) a car or use any mode of transportation. We also encourage you to teach it to your family and friends so they can use it as well inshaAllah.

We have posted this before, but we would like to remind you to continue to say this dua throughout the last night nights inshaAllah:

ANSWERS TO DAY 25 QUESTIONS:
1. Within the 25th Juz of the Quran, there is a dua that is mentioned that you should say when you drive a car. What is that dua? Quote the ayat. The dua is found in Surah Al-Zukhruf Ayah 13 and 14. سُـبْحانَ الّذي سَخَّـرَ لَنا هذا وَما كُنّا لَهُ مُقْـرِنين، وَإِنّا إِلى رَبِّنا لَمُنـقَلِبون
2. There are two surahs in the Quran that explicitly mention Laylatul Qadr. One of those surahs is found in the 25th Juz. Which surah is it and what ayah is it mentioned in? Laylatul Qadr is mentioned in Surah Dukhan Ayat 3-6. Allah calls it "Laylatin Mubaraka" in ayah 3.
3. In Surah Ash-Shuraa, Allah mentions that on the Day of Judgement some people will ask if they can go back to this world. Who are they and why do they ask to return to this life? In ayah 44 for Surah Ash-Shuraa, it mentions that the wrongdoers ask to go back to this world. When they see their punishment they want to go back so they can do good and follow the right path

RAMADAN DAILY CHALLENGE:
One of the many blessings of Ramadan is that Allah has placed within it a lot of forgiveness. Throughout the entire year, you can receive Allah's mercy and forgiveness, but during this month specifically, His mercy and forgiveness is easier to attain. The Prophet Muhammad (S) said, "Whoever fasts Ramadaan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Allah's mercy and forgiveness is so easy to attain that Angel Jibreel made a dua where he said, "Whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and he is not forgiven, then he will enter Hellfire and Allah will cast him far away."

This seems like such a harsh dua, but it shows us that Ramadan truly is the month of mercy and all we have to do to receive it and Allah's forgiveness is to sincerely repent.

For today's challenge, we challenge you to take some time out of your day to truly and sincerely repent to Allah for all of your shortcomings. May Allah accept your repentance and admit you into Jannah. Ameen.

We have posted this before, but we would like to remind you to continue to say this dua throughout the last night nights inshaAllah:

ANSWERS TO DAY 24 QUESTIONS:
1. In the 24th Juz of the Quran, Allah mentions what the angels will say to the people as they enter Jannah. What will the angels say to the people and how will the people respond? But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter]. And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers." Surah Az-Zumar ayat 73 to 74
2. In the same surah, Allah mentions what will be said to the people of hell. What will the keepers of hell say to the people as they enter hell? And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates are opened and its keepers will say, "Did there not come to you messengers from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "Yes, but the word of punishment has come into effect upon the disbelievers. [To them] it will be said, "Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant." Surah Az-Zumar ayat 71 to 72
3. In Surah Ghafir, Allah mentions a man who concealed his faith. Who is he and what did he say? Surah Ghafir ayah 28. A believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, "Do you kill a man [merely] because he says, 'My Lord is Allah ' while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he should be lying, then upon him is [the consequence of] his lie; but if he should be truthful, there will strike you some of what he promises you. Indeed, Allah does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar."

RAMADAN DAILY CHALLENGE:
In Surah Fussilat, which is one of the surahs in the 24th Juz, describes the condition of some people when they pass away?
In ayat 30 to 36, Allah describes righteous people who calls others to Allah, who does good and does good deeds, acts with integrity, and says that they are the ones who submit to Allah and believe in Him. These righteous people are given such a high status that when they pass away, the angels come to them and tell them not to fear or grieve because they will be given Jannah, just as Allah has promised.

Something to always keep in mind is that Allah has made attaining Jannah extremely easy. Allah tells us in the Quran and in the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (S) how we can get it. In these ayat, we learn that by claiming our faith, bringing people to Islam, and doing good we are able to be accompanied by the angels when we pass away.

For today's challenge, we challenge you to do good, call people to Islam and teach someone something good, and be proud to be Muslim. Calling people to Islam can be doing something as simple as showing good behavior in public. May Allah make us among the people the angels protect and take care of and take to Allah (SWT). Ameen.

ANSWERS TO DAY 23 QUESTIONS:
1. In Surah As-Saffat, there is a tree that is mentioned. What is the name of the tree? What is the description of the tree and who eats from the fruits of the tree? The tree is called the tree of Zaqqum, which is mentioned in Ayah 62. It comes from the bottom of hell fire and its fruits emerge like heads of devils. The wrongdoers/ people of hell eat from it.
2. What is the blessing that Allah gave Prophet Dawood? He gave him mulk (a kingdom) and hikma (wisdom) and discernment in speech.
3. What is the story of the two men who had a dispute and asked Prophet Dawood to be the judge of their dispute? Two men who were having a dispute went to Prophet Dawood to settle it. One of the men had 99 ewes while the other man had only one. They explained their issue to Prophet Dawood and before listening to both sides of the story, Prophet Dawood gave a rash judgement and agreeed with the man with one ewe. The two men disappeared, which caused him to realize he was being tested by Allah. Prophet Dawood immediately asked Allah for forgiveness.

RAMADAN DAILY CHALLENGE:

Layaltul Qadr could lie within one of the last ten nights of Ramadan. We have mentioned this multiple times, but it is because of how extraordinarily important this night is. Aishah said that the Prophet Muhammad (S) would over exert himself during these last ten nights of Ramadan. He would stay up the entire night during the last ten nights, which is something he did not usually do any other night.

This shows us how significant and important these last ten nights of Ramadan are and Laylatul Qadr. That's why, for today's challenge, we challenge you to spend most of the night or as much of the night as you can making dua, praying, doing dhikr, gaining beneficial knowledge, or doing any act of worship. We challenge you to pray Qiyam and encourage your family and friends to pray as well.

ANSWERS TO DAY 21 QUESTIONS:
1. In Surah Ahzab, the Prophet (S) tells one of the companions not to divorce his wife. Who is the companion and why did Allah reveal the ayah that mentions this story? The companion was Zaid Ibn Harith. Zaid was the adopted son of the Prophet Muhammad (S) and Allah revealed this ayah to let people know that they are allowed to marry the Ex-wife of Zaid because he is the adopted son and not his son by blood. (Ayah 37 of Surah Ahzab)
2. What is the story of Saba? Saba was a very blessed land. Allah gave the people of Saba many blessings, but they did not appreciate it. They began to disobey Allah, so Allah punished them and took away everything.
