Stretch, Breathe, Grow!!
As part of our Project STAND Summer Explosion Program, our students participated in an amazing yoga sessionfocused on building strength—not just in the body, but in the mind and spirit too. 💛

From balance and flexibility to focus, discipline, and stress relief, they embraced every part of what yoga has to offer. The energy was calm but powerful—exactly what we all needed. 🌿✨

Big shoutout to our students for showing up, staying present, and committing to growth. This is what empowerment looks like! 🙌

🎭 Behind the Curtains at Theatre Memphis!

Our Summer Explosion cohorts had an unforgettable experience touring the legendary Theatre Memphis! Not only did they learn about the history of the theatre, but they got exclusive behind-the-scenes access to see what really makes a production come to life.

From the creative costume makers 👗, to the skilled carpenters crafting stage props 🪚, and even learning the art of special effects makeup — including fake cuts, bruises, and wounds 💄 — our students got a full look at the magic that happens off stage.

Huge thank you to Theatre Memphis for opening doors and showing our students new career opportunities in arts, tech, and production.

This is what exposure looks like! 🌟

🔥🍽️ Big thanks to Chef Steven Leake and Southwest Tennessee Community College’s Culinary Institute for welcoming our youth cohort!

Our students got hands-on experience in the kitchen, learned about the wide range of careers in culinary arts 🍳, and even got the inside scoop on how much money you can really make in this industry 💰.

Chef Leake taught them how to whip up 🔥 Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo, homemade garlic bread, ranch dressing FROM SCRATCH, and chocolate cookies, he also showed off his insane skills outside of cooking which was ice sculpting❄️ — talent and business all in one!

This is what exposure looks like — teaching life skills, career paths, and opportunities our kids can chase. 🚀👨🏾‍🍳👩🏽‍🍳. POV coming soon…

Kicking off the first week of our summer program in St. Louis! One of our groups took a quick trip to St. Louis for some BBQ, fun, and inspiration to start off the summer with motivation to in the weeks to come. We had the opportunity to visit the Gateway Arch, Victory Raceway, and Harris-Stowe State University. Thank you Coach Hite for pouring into another Project STAND group about how we can find our passion and purpose and Harris-Stowe State University for hosting and educating us on opportunities within their great university! Be on the lookout for the next GREAT adventure!

TWO of our very own Project STAND students signed athletic scholarships this week at Central High School. Jeremiah Skinner signed a football scholarship to Baldwin Wallace University, and Damion Cox signed a basketball scholarship to Alabama State. Damion is the ONLY senior in Memphis to sign a Division 1 scholarship in the city in the class of 2025. We are so incredibly proud of them both, and we can’t wait to support them in their next journey. Keep repping the 901 and the family!!
