Yesterday’s Girls on the Run 5K was amazing!
Khailynn was awesome! She displayed all VP Core Values in her run. Lots of self-determination to not give up or take any short cuts. She finished strong with lots of Teamwork! So proud of her!🏃🏾♀️👟🏅🥰
Join us LIVE on Wednesday 3rd November for a conversation with Chelsea Roff and Shawandra Ford, founder of Brwnskn Yoga whose mission is to "Enlighten, Empower & Encourage the Black & Brown Community" through the practice of yoga.
Shawandra (or Mrs Ford to her students), began working with Vision Preparatory Charter School in Memphis, TN, to bring yoga to youngsters. In July this year, the Give Back Yoga Foundation and lululemon shipped 50 yoga mats free of charge to support Shawandra's in-school yoga program - to get the kids off the floor and onto yoga mats.
Shawandra has "witnessed the impact of (yoga) on the students. She sees how they tap into breathwork and stillness to channel calmness to center themselves."
We can't wait to hear more about Shawandra's experience bringing yoga to the youngsters in her community.
