GPCA : Empowering families in underserved communities through affordable faith-based education. In many ways we are extension of family and church.

Greater Praise Christian Academy (GPCA)l not only incorporates morals and ethics into every aspect of learning, but we provide excellence in academic achievement. Our smaller class sizes and low teacher-student ratio allow Greater Praise to meet the need of students when they are failing or at- risk of social calamities. With an independent approach to learning, the school takes the student wh

ere he or she is in learning instead of where it is thought they should be. An individualized education plan (IEP) is assigned to each student in which their individual abilities are assessed. Students are given diagnostic test to determine their appropriate placement for the correct class. Upon being placed in the proper classes, students are monitored with assessments, personalized teaching, and peer groups to aid them in succeeding in passing their courses. Consequently, we are able to provide them with the personal attention, and encouragement that they deserve. We often say: We are not a school, but a family

🚁 MEMPHIS DRONE & TECH PEOPLE — GPCA NEEDS YOU!

Greater Praise Christian Academy is looking for Drone Technology Assistants & Mentors to work with our students during the school day and/or after school.

We’re especially interested in connecting our students with Black and Brown professionals, college students and emerging technology leaders who can help them see themselves in aviation, engineering and autonomous technology.

This is hands-on work with two of our signature programs:

⚽️DRONE SOCCER
Help students develop flight skills, learn drone technology, work as a team and prepare for competition.

🦦 THE RIVER OTTER PROJECT
Help students use drones, mapping and technology for real-world environmental research and conservation.

We want to hear from:

🚁 FAA Part 107 pilots & drone enthusiasts
💻 Computer Science & Engineering students
🤖 Robotics & technology professionals
🗺️ GIS, mapping & environmental science students/professionals
✈️ Aviation professionals & students
🎖️ Veterans with aviation, technology or drone experience
🎓 College students looking for meaningful hands-on experience

Paid, volunteer and fellowship opportunities may be available depending on experience, availability and program needs.

Attention, GPCA Families! 🚨
Due to the continuing impact of this weekend’s severe weather, including widespread power outages and hazardous conditions affecting many of our families, Greater Praise Christian Academy will be CLOSED on Monday, August 24.
We recognize that many of our parents, students, and staff are still without power or are dealing with storm-related conditions in their neighborhoods. The safety and well-being of our GPCA family must come first.
Please use caution if you must travel, check on one another, and allow your family the time needed to recover and regroup.
We anticipate resuming our regular school schedule on Tuesday, August 25, and we will communicate any changes if conditions require otherwise.

Today, a daughter stopped in the hallway, looked at her mother’s graduation picture and said,

Greater Praise Christian Academy (GPCA) is accepting proposals from qualified Food Service Management Companies (FSMCs) interested in partnering with our school to provide vended meals for the 2026–2027 school year.

We are seeking a reliable and experienced food service partner committed to providing nutritious, quality meals to our students while meeting applicable school nutrition program requirements.

We are thrilled to officially welcome Mr. Calvin Davis Jr. to our GPCA team as our Director of Christian Life!

Mr. Davis is a passionate educator, mentor, and youth advocate with a deep commitment to leading people to Christ. With a wealth of experience and a genuine heart for serving the GPCA community, we know he will make a significant impact on our students and staff.
Here are some fun facts about Mr. Davis:
*He's a native of Fayette County, TN.
* He's a proud graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and currently pursuing his doctorate at Tennessee State University.
* He's the founder of The Boys LeaderSHAPE Academy and Purpose LeadHERship Academy.
* His passion lies in creating safe spaces where young people can grow spiritually, academically, and personally.
* He is deeply dedicated to building a legacy of leadership and impact.

What does this role mean to Mr. Davis?
"What this role means to me is that I am responsible and accountable for the spiritual development and growth of the students as well as the staff of GPCA. I want them to know that our relationship with God starts with intentionality and what I call the ABC's of salvation, Acknowledging, Believing and Confessing. I would also like them to know that our relationship with God is a continual process."

His inspiring motto:
"Psalm 37:23 - it reminds me that God controls the narrative, I am only the pen holder."

What are his goals for this year?
"At the end of the year, I want the students to say that because of the culture at GPCA, not only did I grow academically, but I also grew spiritually."

Preparing for a new school year takes more than what happens in the classroom. It takes a strong village behind the scenes, too. 💙💛

We’re grateful to have One L Consulting as part of ours, helping GPCA strengthen our HR practices, support our staff, and build the systems a growing small private school needs to operate well.

This week’s professional development was another reminder that when the right people bring their expertise to the table, the entire school gets stronger.

Today reminded us why GPCA exists.
Our PreK-3 team had an incredible day of STEAM ( Strategies To Engage Active Minds) professional development with Ms. Gwen Calleo of Pre-K-3 Solutions. One message stood above the rest: Innovators are often the “Outliers.” They won’t always sit still. They don't always color inside the lines…And if we spend our time trying to fit every child into the same box, we risk overlooking the very genius we're called to develop.
At GPCA, we choose to see potential before labels. We create spaces where curiosity is celebrated, creativity is expected, and innovation is nurtured, all while aligning with Tennessee academic standards.
Thank you, Ms. Calleo and Pre-K-3 Solutions, for challenging us to teach differently so every innovator has the opportunity to soar.

Day 2 of Professional Development had our GPCA educators fully engaged with Robert Walsh and Excalibur Solutions, programming robots, solving engineering challenges, and experiencing firsthand how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics work together to create meaningful learning. The same problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking our students will develop this year began with our teachers.
Tomorrow, we shift our focus to our youngest innovators as PreK-3 Solutions partners with our Junior Kindergarten through 3rd grade teachers to explore developmentally appropriate, hands-on strategies that build strong foundations in literacy, STEM, and joyful learning.
From our youngest learners to our future engineers, GPCA is preparing every student for tomorrow.
