Today is day, and Memphis Rise seniors and staff celebrated the day by sharing their reasons for applying to college! Whether it's to pursue an ambitious goal, expand your horizons, or create opportunities for yourself, there's no better time than to submit your college application (or to share your college application story)!

UPDATE: Good Evening! In accordance with Memphis-Shelby County Schools’ decision to close their district tomorrow, Memphis Rise Academy will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, August 24th. As we shared earlier today, our school building does have power. However, Memphis Rise students, families, and staff live in all parts of the county, and many are still affected by yesterday’s weather (and by the district-wide closure) in a way that will make it difficult to be present at school tomorrow. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility!

📣We need YOUR help!📣

Memphis Rise Academy students, Nancy Ortiz (Class of 2026; Barnard College Class of 2030) and Kyndal East (Class of 2027) are headed to the National History Day competition at the University of Maryland, College Park to showcase their captivating website, “Revolution in Rhythm: Memphis Music, Racial Fusion, and Cultural Reform.”

Their hard work, research, and dedication have opened the door to compete at the national level from June 14-18 and present their project in front of judges and spectators from across the country.

To make this opportunity a reality, we’re raising funds to support travel and lodging for Nancy, Kyndal, and a chaperone.
