❤️🖤💚This….. is our KBMS Black HairStory.

✨️Hair is a centerpiece of Black culture; it's a symbol of identity, of resistance, creative expression and freedom. It is woven deep into Black culture and therefore rooted in the history of America.

❤️🖤💚Throughout the month of February, Kate Bond Middle School students, staff and parents were invited to proudly showcase their “crowns”.

✨️Black hair is our crown and not just because it adorns the top of our heads. From locs, to braids, relaxers, mid-tapers, waves, fades, and Afros....Black hair continues to represent the legacy of Blackness.

❤️🖤💚Please enjoy our presentation!

✨️Thank you to all participants!

❤️Love is ....... !

🩷Vocabulary is an important focus of literacy teaching.

❤️KBMS families enjoyed pastries while learning how to increase literacy at home during our monthly event. Students completed hands-on on activities along with their parents. We enjoyed sweet treats and a lucky parent walked away with a prize!
