πŸ’™ Your Support Makes a Difference! πŸ’™

The Scotland County School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, created to support educational opportunities for the students and teachers of Scotland County R-1. As a qualified 501(c)(3), eligible charitable contributions may be tax-deductible under IRS rules.

When you donate to the School Foundation, those dollars come right back around to support education in our community. Donations help fund programs such as classroom mini-grants for our teachersβ€”like the Fall 2026 grants we just announcedβ€”as well as benefit grants that help students with the cost of taking dual-credit courses.

Whether it’s putting new books in a classroom, purchasing hands-on learning materials, providing educational technology, or helping a student earn college credit while still in high school, your support has a direct impact on Scotland County students. πŸ“šπŸŽ“

We are incredibly thankful for the individuals, families, businesses, and organizations that support the Scotland County School Foundation. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us continue investing in our teachers and students!

🐯 Supporting our schools. Supporting our teachers. Investing in our students and their future. πŸ’™πŸ€

Honoring the Legacy of George Koontz

As visitors enter Tiger Plaza, they are welcomed by a lasting tribute to George Koontz, a man whose vision, leadership, and dedication helped shape the future of Scotland County R-1 Schools.

As a charter member of the Scotland County School Foundation, George believed in investing in the success of future generations. He also faithfully served on the Scotland County R-1 Board of Education from 1998 to 2016, including as a board officer and Missouri School Boards’ Association representative. His leadership was instrumental in organizing and fundraising for the construction of the Scotland County R-1 stadium and Tiger Plaza.

The memorial at the entrance of Tiger Plaza stands as a reminder that the opportunities enjoyed by today’s students and athletes were made possible through the commitment of leaders like George Koontz.

Tiger Nation proudly honors George Koontz for his unwavering service, lasting vision, and enduring legacy.
