The CCRE is launching a new research unit dedicated to improving the transparency, accessibility and usability of Shelby Countyโs criminal justice data.
The CLEAR Initiative (Criminal and Legal Evaluation using Administrative Records) will harmonize data sources from five Shelby County agencies, making it easier to track outcomes as cases progress through the criminal justice system. Read more at the link in comments!

Last month, the Department of Earth Sciences and CERI hosted their fifth annual Earth Day event for sixth-graders at University Middle School.
This year's theme was "Earth Futures" and featured hands-on activities like archaeological digs and earthquake simulations.
The students also participated in an Earth Futures Art-A-Thon, where they created their own Earth-inspired art, which was then used to decorate a custom Earth Day globe, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece to commemorate the event.
